Yeah, brilliant. Print more money and make the value of each dollar worth less. Does the term "Runaway Inflation" mean anything to you? I didn't think so. A seemingly simple 'solution' like this make the 'cure' far more damaging than the illness it was intended to address. Obviously things will increase in price, tax's will go up but I have doubts people making $75k will still really struggle as much as person that may bring home less then 20k. This is the classic error of thinking in one dimension when the problem exists in a three-dimensional space. For decades, the Fed has carefully freed up the money supply when needed and tightened it when that was more appropriate. They're constantly maintaining the balance between having capital available for investment in business and industry while keeping inflation at a modest level. This is achieved by incremental changes in the money supply. A small increase in available capital can actually trigger economic growth. As long as inflation remains manageable, this is a good thing. But shifting to 'high gear' in the process of printing money is a foolish solution for massively spending beyond the limits of the economy. It causes rampant inflation that discourages saving, and the financial sector begins to fall out of balance and fail. People will hoard perishable goods and the demand quickly out-paces supply. Prices escalate out of control. Those who are most vulnerable are the first to suffer. Can you spell Venezuela? In 1950, Venezuela was the world's 4th wealthiest nation per capita. Now, because of hyperinflation, its economy can best be described as a warzone. Massive increases in the money supply as a response to massive increases in government spending is a recipe for disaster.

Yeah it really is getting annoying hearing free money from a government system that is at least trying to take care of it's citizens when other countries don't even know what a stimulus is and struggling to even have a gallon of milk in their fridge. If you have a steady income a cozy home and feel safe then giving others shouldn't be a huge deal to you. Tax rates may go up but if it helps a struggling family that should matter to you more then you being able to afford a new ps5 system or whatever expensive product you want to buy. The government is the last entity on the planet you should trust to take care of you, period. It’s like famous quote attributed to Ronald Regan goes: The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help.As to your comment about making $75k... I’m in the that bracket and yes, I do have a serious problem with that statement and it does matter to me. I don’t want to be taxed more than some one making 20k a year just because I’m a higher earner. I’d like you to explain to me in perfectly clear terms why you believe it is fair that I should be responsible for taking care of some one who makes less money than me? I work my butt off for my living and at the end of the day, I have expenses to contend with just as a lower income earner does. I started with a job making ~25k years ago and worked hard to get where I’m at today (without a college education, mind you). Why should others not be held to that same standard? You think it’s fair that because I make more than you, that I’m now responsible for you? As mean as it sounds, you’re not my problem and your problems are not my problems - especially on a financial scale.

This is perhaps a perfect example of how America has been duped into having the "comfortable" middle class fight with the poor and lower middle class. Been going on for decades. The issue isn't $75k or even $150k. Rather, it's people making $500k or a million or ten million or hundreds of millions that they aren't paying their fair share towards the country that enabled their riches...
Distracting us like this has been a strategy for decades. Time to stop fighting amongst ourselves and realize that all of us working stiffs are being fleeced.

I agree 100%, that hits the nail on the head.

As mean as it sounds, you’re not my problem and your problems are not my problems - especially on a financial scale. Obviously you wouldn't want to pay more, obviously my problems aren't yours, however at the same time just because you were able to earn $75k doesn't mean the person next to you is in the same boat to be able to go out and do that. Theirs still a $50k difference. Not everyone can go out there and earn $50k more. I don't know what everyone's bank account looks like it's not my business to but at the end of the day you're still making more then someone else is. Would it be a better way to think that it should go to people making less then $12k a year and taxing those that make $500k yearly? Would views on it be different then because it wouldn't affect you?
