There are occasions when a particular post adds nothing to a thread, or is slightly contentious and needs Staff editing at some point. In these cases, could a plugin be created which has the action of hiding the post from non-Staff members, so they don't know it's there, while at the same time giving Staff access to do whatever is necessary to change it and un-hide it?
Post Quarantine is fine as far as it goes for making posts unavailable for viewing, but members know the post is there because 'Quarantined' is written over the post; people can see that X member has made a dubious post, which is not necessarily a good thing for member relations. If, instead of the action of writing 'Quarantined', a similar action hiding the post from view is possible, that would be great. If I recall correctly, on a phpbb board this is known as 'soft-deleting'.

It sounds like the easiest solution would be to add a feature to post quarantine. Like a code snipped to run in your global header/footer that would remove any posts that say quarantined
