I decided to stick my nose in here for the first time in many years, and it’s really lovely to see familiar names and see how much of life has swept us along, though sad to read of those no longer with us. I still count Gymnast as one of my best friends in the world; I’m very grateful that we met online the day the chat room opened here—I think it was summer 2006? I would have been 14, and now I’m 30! We see each other IRL too rarely now, but she’ll always be incredibly important to me. Also, I figured out this little mystery: I'm always being mistaken for a guy... don't know what it is about me. Turns out it’s cause I’m a guy. Who knew besides… well, everyone but me? I started medical transition 8 years ago and live openly as a gay nonbinary trans man, comfortable with my femininity now that I’m better aligned with the physicality that I (tried to deny I) needed. That whole journey has been intense and affirming, learning how to get by with more than the bare minimum and even hope for joy, and learning to live life in the moment now that I can be present in that moment. I live in the UK, write novels for a living, own my own flat, date all kinds of lovely guys and have Things with wonderful people that don’t need labels but live happily alone (basically nonmonogamous aro heaven), am owned by a darling of a rescue kitty, dance and rock climb and travel, got my ADHD diagnosed, I’ve done a ton of therapy and learned to work through and with my trauma, and I’m just… everything I was meant to be, everything I couldn’t even imagine as a possibility and struggled with all those years ago, mostly without knowing I was so lost. I hope today’s teens on the internet *shakes fist in grumpy old enby* have these kinds of places to explore themselves and fondly revisit one day in the future. I’m really happy to hear how many others have found their own happiness since then. 💖

For those who remember Myke (xkamelx): Sadly, he passed, back in 2013 at age 34.🙁 Maybe some of you are already aware of this. I just learned of his passing, confirmed with his daughter Kayla. Can't say I remember him but sad anyway, passing away at 34 years old, I thank god I am still here at 72. I see you mentioned Stinky666 in another post about nice seeing his name again but I wonder where he has disappeared to, last online in April 2019, a really old poster he was. Really really really really SUPER duper old! In July 2004 I registered on Support, apparently. But hey! Oh and, Splash! to some of you

Much appreciated as we’re ( in most parts of the UK) going through a heatwave.😀 Nice to see you again.👍🏾

What a lovely idea for a post guys. I can't remember exactly when the General Talk community started to lessen a bit, but it will always remain a very important part of my teenage years. As will remain the image of Martyn Dale bowling. Hope everyone is well. Been reading through a few of these posts today from people that always used to make me smile, and still do just from the sight of their name online Chaz

If I witnessed such a thing, it would have been on that big, London meet-up which Pat and Mary attended. But, maybe I only read about it a post here, concerning some other social gathering.😀

I know I haven't exactly been active here, aside from commenting on a thread here or there. I know I do miss a large majority of the formerly active users, that was fun debating things with.

How have ya been? And how are the kids? I still remember back when Proboards was at its prime. There would be a new post seemingly every minute. These days, it seems like Youtube, TikTok, and other apps have taken over.
