Something has changed recently so that images contained in posts no longer display correctly. I had all my boards set to reduce images to fit page width and that remains unchanged.
I don't like wall to wall images anyway and very often inserted style="max-width:80%;" into the img tag to get a small margin on the right. That tag used to work but no longer has any effect. I have switched to inserting width="750" instead, and that works for some images but not all. It looks fine on my iPad (and I'm guessing on larger screens), but I've no idea how it looks on a smart phone.
So now my board is full of overflowing images and it looks a mess. The picture begins correctly at the left margin of the message box, but instead of shrinking to fit, the image extends well to the right, hidden under the margin outside the box. In order to see the information on that side, I need to drag it over and hold it there. Above the image is some tiny type saying the image has been reduced by xx.x% with a link to view full image. It didn't used to do that, but it seems useful as long as it would actually shrink the image enough to fit.
I (and pretty much all my members) are using tablets to read the forum, as it is primarily about a mobile game.
As I mentioned, I can usually get my own images to display better using the size code, but I can't honestly expect posters to hand code their image tags.
Any suggestions?
