It really doesn’t bother me, and in these times where most people (in the UK at least) are expecting a financially tough winter, it makes sense to start Christmas shopping early. Is it over commercialised? Yes, but people like giving and receiving gifts and decorating their homes etc, so makes sense that retail has that stuff on display.
Halloween is less of a big deal in the UK, but it still makes sense to get products on display early as it falls in the half term holidays at UK schools, so school parties will happen earlier than Halloween itself. Also anyone planning a party would want to get their costumes etc in advance.

They'll just keep releasing the stuff earlier and earlier until they decide to keep it all up all year round. We can change the holiday for the Christmas Tree. Have you gotten your Halloween Trees yet? You can put chocolate fudge wrapping on the branches!
I haven't been to any stores lately, but I'm sure they got Halloween/Christmas stuff up. Well, it's the first of October now so it makes sense to have Halloween stuff, but I'm sure it will be overshadowed by Christmas soon.
