Selfies on Social Media

Do you have a lot of selfies on your social media page? How often do you post one?

How do you feel about people who are constantly posting them?

Meh I only have people I know on Facebook so they know what I look like.

I figure just let people do what they're going to do it's not our place to tell them not to.

Selfies are often incredibly vapid and show very little about the person's life. So many duck lipped posers and cleavage thirst traps that it's just ridiculous. I usually only post pictures of myself if it includes a life event or I'm doing something fun.

I rarely post selfies. Unless they’re horror edits.

I don't post anything about my life, or should I say very rarely do I post anything with me in it. Who the heck cares about what the heck I'm doing on any specific day? I understand that Facebook is for Olde Phartes, but I still see so many people posting ducklips/cleavage/butt shots-it's ridiculous! If I want to see those, I'll read the New York Post~! Vacation posts just makes me think that I could now go and rip off your house and take my time doing it! LOL!

I have one in my profile picture and maybe 10 over the course of the last fifteen years. It's usually in reference to something I am doing or somewhere I am, but otherwise, I rarely post any pictures of myself.

The last picture I posted on Facebook was in 2017. My tortoise dominates my Instagram. People can look at his cute face all they want. I don't take selfies. I already know what I look like. People are only posting filtered pictures anyway. No one shares an accurate representation of their life. I'd rather see pictures of their pets and their dinner.

I never post selfies and am sick of people who post them every other day. I tend to mute certain people for a while when I get tired of the same thing over and over.

Sometimes I think that what is worse than selfies are the people who post everything they eat, what their pet does, every glass of wine they drink, the view from every spot in their yard, etc. "I'm just not that into you"...you know what I mean? These people tend to get put on a month-long timeout!

Ha ha, yes! And half the time (or more than half the time), the food they post looks absolutely disgusting.

I don't post pics of myself, but I do of my cat, I had one person ask me why I don't, and I asked them why it's so important to you why I should. That killed it that convo pretty quick.

Back in my teenage days I had tons of selfies and photos of everything I did. These days I don't really share much of anything on social media, with the condition the internet has been. I do have a few more professional photos but otherwise I don't do much.

I definitely still take selfies on my phone, but I share those with family and friends instead of publicly.

I never really got into social media (unless forums count), so I missed out on the selfie craze. I've never had much interest in taking pictures of myself anyway. I already know what I look like.

I remember being a member of this one forum at a different site many moons ago and this one guy would not leave me alone he would hound me for a pic of myself, so I found a pic of Pamela Anderson  and posted it and said, there you go you happy now.

He said, no because that's not you that's Pamela Anderson and I said, good boy, you learned something new today but still not smart enough to take NO for an answer. You need more training so no cookies for you, when you get smart enough come back to me and I will give you a cookie. lol

He finally left me alone after that. Some people can be so annoying yet so funny at the same time.

It doesn't really bother me when people do it. I don't do it a lot myself since I don't feel any particular need, but other people like doing it, so that's cool. Sometimes it can be interesting, like if they're showing where they've traveled or what they're doing. But if it doesn't interest me it's easy enough to just keep scrolling.

I should probably take more pictures of myself, I don't even have enough photos for professional use much less random selfies for social media.
