Does anyone even still use these? I thought about just buying one for my NFL games, it's pretty redicoulus that we need another subscription service just to watch them anymore imo. Anyway I have one that I tried but the pictures so bad and it only scans like 3 channels it's probably a position thing since my tv set up isn't near a window to reach far enough even then reception here is pretty bad.

The performance of an antenna depends on several factors Proximity to the transmitter: You should be able to find the location of your nearest transmitter that supplies the channel you need, you'll sometimes randomly find the channel you need, but from a different transmitter further away, i know in the UK we used to be able to find the channel on several fifferent frequencies, but only one was a good signal Location: where is the antenna located, i assume it's indoors, signals can be blocked by walls or large adjacent buildings, best position is outside (chimney or mast), or maybe in the attic Type of antenna: commonly indoors it would be 'bunny ears' a base with 2 antenna, can take a bit of fiddling to improve the signal, there are also small 'yagi' antenas, multiple elements that you poit towards the transmitter, the elements may need to be vertical or horizontal for nest signal
Commonly an outdoor antenna would be the Yagi type with many more elements with a higher gain. the higher the gain, the better the signal You need to point a yagi in the direction of the transmitter
Hope this helps

That's basically a loop antenna with an amplifier, the range is probably in ideal conditions (outside on a hill in direct sight of the transmitter), i would rather have decent range without the amplifier first i did a search for "indoor yagi digital tv antenna", which is nearer to what you need, without knowing your budget something like this would be better, i know it says outdoor or attic, but you may be able to find an indoor location I guess you could also try adding the amplifier to this too.

Ever since my dad dropped Xfinity cable and switched to antenna and Internet streaming many months ago, we have to use the antenna to watch PBS and ABC channels. And the old antenna that we had in the 1970s or 1980s still works, as well as the new digital antenna.

I have one that I used during the World Cup and might for the World Baseball Classic, but otherwise, no need.
