PM's of a banned account

I know that forums are tiny fiefdoms of the ruler of the Kingdom... so to speak, so I'm not asking about a ban reversal or anything like that...

BUT I do need to know if there's any way to download, or otherwise get at, the PM's of a banned account, since I can't login? I have some information that was shared via PM that I'd like access to if there's any way possible.

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer on this.

Have you tried heading to www.proboards.com/account/settings (login) and exporting your PMs from the forum?

I thought about doing that... but all I want access to are the PM's... I don't want everything.

If there are no other options, I'll end up doing that.

I have no experience with being banned for a legitimate reason (like violations of "forum rules" would be... but I haven't done that so...)... so it comes as a surprise when it happens.

It downloads a folder of spreadsheets.  PMs will be in their own spreadsheet, so you can delete the other spreadsheets you don't want.

What type of error message did you receive indicating you were banned?


You can PM me with specific account details if you want (username, or email, etc)

I am seeing "ACCOUNT DISABLED" greyed out block over my RichardInTN screenname on the "Select Account" page.

At first it was a two week ban (illegitimate, but... her fiefdom... so whatever)... set to "expire" on the 9th.

Then on the day the original ban was to expire (the 9th), it was set to "expire" on the 22nd.

Then a few days later the expiration date vanished... making it an "until the Queen removes it" ban.

It's tied to this global account, and shows up in my global account's Forum Dashboard (where I can see that I have 1 new PM from her royal highness,  and 17 Notifications... but clicking on any of them takes me to the "You must be logged in to access this feature. Click here to login." page.

Thanks for the offer of doing this over PM, but that's not necessary. I don't care if she (or anyone else, for that matter) sees this. I'm done with that board no matter what (once I get my PM's out).

Effectively the same thing in my book... because either way you are forcefully and intentionally unable to access the forum.

Wow... okay... got the "spreadsheet"... and it's basically useless... so... back to my request for assistance getting READABLE copies of my PM's... any suggestions?

No; the spreadsheet can be configured to be more user friendly if you have that sort of knowhow, but ultimately the .csv file is all that's available since effectively PMs are just database entries.

Edit: I haven't downloaded my PMs in a while but I believe it's also only your PMs, and not PM threads / chains including other people's responses, due to privacy requirements. (Don't quote me on this one tho)

If the "spreadsheet" is only my submissions, then it's basically useless.... but that helps me understand why it looked like (from what I could make out) that stuff (including what I was looking for) was missing.

I am so curious why the word spreadsheet is in quotes — it's not bad or anything I am just confused haha.

"Spreadsheet" is in quotes because it's not really a typical spreadsheet. A typical spreadsheet, to me, is a calculational dataset... not simply a collection of words.

I'm sorry that that's the case too. This is legitimately an issue that I think needs to be addressed and fixed. PM's could have important information in them that people could need (in my case here, it's simply a link to another forum that I am looking for... so.... not really life altering... but for someone else it could be).
