Our Administrator QueenFoxy died last Saturday and we are not sure how to proceed from here.

ProBoards will likely require proof of death such as in the form of a public obituary. Can you provide that to them if it's requested?

I don't think so.  I am moderator for the group and her daughter informed us of her death through a member who was friends with Foxy on FaceBook.  What happens if we can't get a death certificate.  Are there fees due for Our Fantasy Castle?

ProBoards is free; based on what I've seen on your forum, it doesn't look like anyone opted into some of the paid-for features (like a custom URL or adfree) so won't be any costs to keep the forum running.

If you can't get a death certificate, PB admins will let you know what they other options are, but historically, a message to PB from the family member has been accepted with the family member confirming details to PB admins, etc.

queenfoxy also has an account here on support; PB may be able to do something with that.

As a personal note, I was fond of queenfoxy as well from our interactions here on PB Support; I'm sorry for your loss and extend my condolences to her family.

Thank you so much and I will convey your condolences to her family through her FaceBook contact. We miss her terribly.  Our hearts are broken.  She fell and went into hospital Feb 7 and had an operation which produced some complications she was unable to recover from.  I don't want to say too much here as this is public.

Foxy paid for our forum to be ad free.  We are ad-free at present.  Every once in a while some ads would pop up and Foxy would come here to stop them.

Oh I see, I'm a guest so she (correctly) had the ads enabled for guests to not eat up page views. A PB admin should be able to stop the subscription so her accounts are no longer charged. Otherwise, ad free costs a nominal monthly fee for 50,000 pageviews until the end of the month (or until the 50,000 views are reached, whichever comes first).

If there are other staff / moderators with access to ad free they can set up their own subscription and apply them to the board every month. I understand that an obituary may not be available yet, but perhaps may be in the near future. If you currently have any other corroborating details please feel free to PM me with this information.

Since the forum has current active staff, there is nothing that needs to be done immediately. The forum should be able to continue as is for the time being.

That might have been Rick, but Rick died Christmas Day 2020  I have always been a moderator for her here, and in other places before here. I have always been only a moderator as I didn't want to get into things too deeply - rather I took care of the Castle's daily running and referred any issues to her that I could not resolve myself and needed her help to have the issue handled.  We worked very closely together.  She took care of the main things and communications with you.

I would appreciate it, however, if you did check to see if she had a succession plan as everyone is looking to me for answers.  Many have expressed the wish for the Castle to continue on.

There is not a Succession Agreement in place for the forum.   

So far from what I can tell though, there is nothing stopping the forum from continuing to be online.  How it moves forward administratively is yet to be determined, however as I pointed out above, the forum has active staff so this shouldn't be an issue at the moment.  Let's see if an obit becomes available and go from there.

In the meantime, if there is something that needs immediate attention that the staff cannot resolve or have the power to resolve, please PM me and we can work to get it sorted.

Thanks so much for your help and thank you all for your condolences.  She was a great lady and we all loved her.  She will be greatly missed.
