With all the new tech out these days have you ever bought something really expensive and regretted it a month later? I'm eyeing these Nreal Airs as vr isn't something I really got into, I tried the quest 2 a few times and honestly didn't feel all that different from my oculus go that I have which is collecting dust. In fact a lot of my stuff is. I collect retro consoles here and there I could sell them but knowing they're there is nice to look at. Don't know anymore I just feelike I'm happy with what I own and don't want to consume anything else but I still want to get myself something here and there.

As long as you're not buying things when you're hurting for money, there's nothing wrong with an occasional expensive purchase, but it is prudent to consider how much use you may actually get out of the item. When I see something I like, I put it in my Amazon wish list and come back to it a week later. If I still feel like I want it, it stays. Most of the time, it gets deleted. You could also put that money away for a rainy day. Watching savings grow can be just as satisfying, sometimes moreso, than looking at material things. When I was your age, I was putting 20% of my salary into a retirement account and now when I'm nearing retirement age, I'm REALLY glad I did. No buyer's remorse there, LOL. Jim and I bought a boat once. Used it twice, I think. Impulse buy and bad decision.

I have never bought an expensive item that doesn't have a decent return policy lol but I also research things so much that I don't regret my decision. The only semi-regret I feel is when something goes on sale months later, so then I wish I waited a little bit longer xD

Being cheap pays off. I don't buy anything unless I really need it, Owen (my pet) needs it, or it'll last me the rest of my life.

Aye that's how I've been feeling lately my muffler just fell off so that's going to be expensive All these adult things that get thrown at you still get irritating to the point where you want to treat yourself with something dumb.

I have and it ticks me off but what is done is done. My stupid purchases are usually home or clothing related so if I am positive it was a mistake these things get donated to a women's or homeless shelter. This is one of the bad things about buying things on-line. You never can really understand how somehting will fit in your life unless you see it in person. *sigh* I miss the good old days.

This is getting true for alot of things, furniture being one of them, with most stores offering 30 day return window some none on clothes purchasing, it's getting harder to even go in and find a sofa to sit on before making the choice, unless you wanna rent a truck and drive 30 minutes out to find one at a goodwill or something. Plus when it comes to electronics theirs always the bad feeling of them releasing a new model right after you bought the current. The only good thing about online is the returns, all you do is repackage and they pick up to where you don't have to deal with a person the other side of a desk arguing about how they babble wrong information about returns.

You can't be too cavalier about returns, as I found out recently. I bought a coffee maker and found it not to suit my purpose; I had to pay almost half of it's value to return it. It might have been better for me to donate it and taken a tax credit.
