Cannot match forum's URL and my subdomain.

Hello.

You wrote, to match my domain with the forum's URL I have to add CNAME on DNS.

The problem is, that CNAME needs 2 paras: HOST NAME and VALUE (Points to).

You gave me only 1 VALUE as an address pb.forumcustomdomain.com. Host name field cannot be empty so I cannot use my domain.

I had no problem with DEVFLOW. They wrote 2 values in description and I didn't have to ask them about anything.

Host name cannot be blank. Must be filled.

Thank You for an answer. I use IONOS. When create subdomain on my main domain, I can use only one DNS regardless which domain / sub is marked. When I write host: @, have an error:
A CNAME record can only be set for a subdomain. To alias your main domain please use Redirect 
It's because DNS always points out on my main domain and it looks, like there is no 2nd DNS for the subdomain. Maybe it is stupid what I wrote, but I am not as much technical.

So if DNS doesn't let me to write @ - what to do?
I know I can set forwarding, but then there is a bad address - not my subdomain only original.

The domain only. I applied default SSL on my main domain and created subdomain, and it seems I can create more than one subdomains, in the price of the main domain.

To match my subdomain with Your URL do I need to write only CNAME on my DNS, or do something else?

So just to confirm, you are not using your domain name with anything else and you only want to use it with the forum, correct?

mydomain.eu - this is my www domain and I have a website running there. 

forum.mydomain.eu - my subdomain, where I want to have a forum pinned.

In my opinion there is only one DNS server or separate for each domain? Whatever I try to mark or choose it always redirect me to mydomain.eu, that's why I think there is only one DNS server for domain and subdomains.

But I have the 2nd free domain and can check on "fresh one". It always may be reconfigured if needed.

user2080 - what you want to do is not use their subdomain feature. So if you setup forum.mydomain.eu, you want to delete that.

Once that is done, you want to set up a CNAME entry:

Host: forum
Value: pb.forumcustomdomain.com.
TTL: 1 minute

Save.


On the forum, go to Admin > Upgrades > Custom Domains
Choose I have an existing domain name
Then under I'm ready... enter just:
forum.mydomain.eu

And then Continue to purchase the linking.

I uploaded the plug-in for forum paper/stone/sci., but do know now how to activate it. After installing nothing happens. Tried to configure it as could, but with no success. Do You know how does it work?

user2080 - I do know it requires the Yootil plugin to work. Have you installed this plugin as well?
