Forum URL: (private) Please help me hide the navigation tree. I tried this but, according to the preview, I was only adding the arrow below the nav tree.

I can see the url in your first post, but it is closed off to non staff members, so i can't see it If you follow the instructions in that link you posted, and remove that section of code that they posted, it should get rid of the navigation tree. If you have any trouble when trying to do that, let us know where you are getting stuck and we can help you through it

The news feed replaced the nav tree. However I'd prefer the news feed not to move up but keep the former nav tree space empty.
How to move the news feed back down to its original position?
Would like to keep the 'Participated' button in its original position, so at the right next to the (soon) empty space. Or completely hide it. How to remove that one?

The news feed replaced the nav tree. However I'd prefer the news feed not to move up but keep the former nav tree space empty. How to move the news feed back down to its original position? Go to Admin > Themes > Advanced Styles & CSS, Style Sheet tab. Scroll to the very bottom and on a new line add: /*shift news feed down*/ #news {margin-top: 40px;} By shifting the News Feed down, the Participated button stays in it's original position. To hide the Participated button there are 2 choices: 1) Remove just for you: Go to Profile > Edit Profile > Settings tab. Under Show Participated, click the No option. (This removes the button just for you. If other members prefer not to see the button, they would need to do the same thing.) 2) Remove for all members: Go back to Admin > Themes > Advanced Styles & CSS, Style Sheet tab, and at the bottom add this: /*removed Participated button*/ .recent-threads-button {display:none;}

Awesome! Thank you!
I wish to adjust my news feed some more:
- temporarily/optional remove the word "News" (but don't change its little box size) - expand the news feed so it matches the forum banner/board list width - align my inserted-news-texts with the word "Board"
I have already deleted the arrows in the little news box and changed its background to the same color as the news feed text area. I somehow aligned the news feed text with the word Board but I have no clue how I did that.

Add this to the bottom of your Style Sheet:
/*remove news border*/ #news {border: 0px;}
