Okay, so basically my forum's 1st birthday is coming up, and I am making a new skin for the occasion. So I have the new skin on my tes forum, but I know it's not perfect but really want to improve it to be the best that it can be. So all suggestions on it are greatly appreciated! Here is the link to my test fourm: www.charmeddesinys.proboards101.com/Thanks everyone!

Turn off the music. That really slows it down. The button text on the menu could be a bit clearer, and overall I think the buttons are too big. The top table title doesn't have a gradient. You might want to fix that. The cell highlight - move it a little nearer the windowbg colour. Add more to the background than just scanlines. Try bars down the side then just a colour for the middle part. Add a bit of CSS - customised textareas, link rollover. Other than that, try to finish customising the rest of the images (thread buttons, UBBC, smilies etc) and you'll have a good skin.

Thank you so much for all of the suggestions. This has really helped. I actually have already started a thread about how the top table title doesn't have a gradient. I wasn't sure how to put that in so I am working on figuring that out.
I will definatly be working on customizing all of the images on the site as well. And as far as the menu buttons go, do you have a particular size that you would suggest instead of the current size that I am using?
And would you mind explaining to me about CSS? I'm not sure exactly what you mean by that.
Thank you again for all of your suggestions. It is greatly appreciated.

Look at the class of the bar: make it "catbg". Menu buttons - you're best off using smaller sizes, it's hard to give an exact size. CSS - take what I told you and ask in the coding boards, they can explain it better than me

Thank you.
One thing though. I tried using this for the first line in the infobox:
<table width="92%" cellpadding="4" cellspacing="1" align="center" class="catbg" id="infobox">
But the gradient didn't seem to show up. Do you have any idea why?

Add class="catbg" in the <td> tag that precedes the title. In the <table> tag it should be "bordercolor".

You mean comes after? (precedes means comes before). There also ought to be a <tr> tag that comes just before the <td>.

What I mean is the <td> tag before the title. IE <td class="catbg" blah="whateverelsethereis">TITLE</td>

Yes I realize that . But I want to try and make it the best that it can be . So I made all of the menu buttons smaller, and the text more clear. The gradient is now consistant throughout the whole forum. I will continue to take the rest of your suggestions and try to get those done. Anymore suggestions? All are appreciated!
