Here are Anselm's comments on each of the sigs:

ssdlpf: 4 - Generally a good idea, and a definite focus. Text needed work though.

:Miss:Kerri: 5 - Again, it's a good idea, and has come out quite well. Not digging the text or stock duplication though.

Zack: 14 - A good start, but I'm not liking just having grunge brushing to the side.

dKazn: 1 - Great colours, and nicely contrasted. The focus is definite and a great sig overall.

Crazy: 3 - Greyscale <3. It's got a good flow, clear focus but needs a border.

Death Maker: 10 - Liking the background, but the stock was a bit too dark and didn't flow.

Squall: 9 - You could have made the stock a little clearer as a focus, but the general idea is good.

E®®ø®: 17 - Looks a little pixelated; probably that top effect. With work it could be good though.

Rehy: 12 - Liking the idea, and the focus is clear, but I'm not digging the brushing in the background.

ironmangfx: 13 - A nice idea here, just doesn't appeal too much to me.

phemertxe™: 18 - Too big tbh, and the stock needs better blending and hasn't been resized properly. Work on it

aussie1984: 16 - The squaring seems to take away from the stock. Make the stock stand out a little more.

« тwі™ | Slain »: 15 - A suttle use of animation which I liked, but it generally didn't appeal to me.

.shnb: 7 - A nice shaker effect, but text needs work.

Breakdown: 11 - Rounded border is pixelated, and the blue does look slightly monotonic, but quite good still.

frzstyle: 8 - A nice, abstract idea, but no real focus and the top text was too big.

Mr. Noob: 2 - A nice general idea but too much black space on the sides. The appeal and style got you the silver.

tricky.cb: 6 - Again, a nice idea, but others appealed more. Hard for me to comment here.

Congratulations go to Crazy, dKazn and tricky,cb for getting the gold, silver and bronze medals respectively. Well done on entering every one else

I took the time to write those comments, so respect them. If you're not happy with my critique and the way I go about it, I don't really care. Just respect it. A border gives a definite edge. I feel that sigs without borders look incomplete. Respect that, as I always have respected you.

I think all sigs should have some type of border, I like the plain 1 px black border its simple and it works. On mine you said it was alittle to dark and didn't flow, how didn't it flow and how could I make it flow better next time?

Personally, I think it would be better to say that in my opinion it could do with a border or just it could do with a border - saying it needs it is kinda suggesting that it absolutely must have one and that your word is law (not suggesting that that's anything like your character at all Anselm). In general I think borders do tend to finish off a sig although in some cases they look better without borders - it's impossible to make a generalization either that borders are necessary or unnecessary.

Ok what I'm really saying is that you're stating your opinions as facts saying that it 'needs' a border. What you really mean is it would look better with a border (I think).
