Ugh, the admin ragedeleted the old forums (and all the threads thereof), lied directly to everyone that it was a ToS violation (even though it was just confirmed that the code was fine), and left. Yay. Now all our threads are gone, and the links to the old forum are dead.
Well, at least the new ones are going along quite nicely. They are already almost as active as the old ones. I guess we can officially consider this case closed.

May I just add.....
This was not a complete disaster, as a member managed to back up nearly all of the threads of the old forums just in time.
So now we have the new forums, a normal level-headed admin and an archive of the old forum.
(which I have been working on to make it look a bit better)
Just putting this information out there so that you guys know.

Well.... we still lost two very important threads Which for one , happens just before we started to backup And the other two years ago. They are being deleted by the same admin who rage deleted the old forums Also IP can vary depending on the person's internet service provider, and some other factors. No, even if a forum is deleted, it is still stored, so the URL would be unavailable. I think this implicates proboards regularly backup forums in their server. so is it possible that we can have the backup file of danballforum s.proboards.com (old forum) from 2008 to 2010? so that we can get back the two lost important threads?

Kami I've calculated
From qwenty, exact date that thread being deleted is 17 May (Monday) Today is 16 June (Wednesday)
That's 3 weeks since the deletetion Which according to your response
Backups is being overwritten only 4-5 times (Assume every Sunday)
Kami, from the above, is it possible to use data recovery software (which can recover overwritten files) on the backups to recover the lost thread on 17 May?

Sorry for wrong quote: Undelete cannot deal with overwritten files
but many data recovery software out there can deal with them
Also it isn't being overwirtten too many times So we still have chance to recover it
(Unless the software does nto support proboards backup files format (extension)0
