Forum URL: nzbfever.proboards.com/Hello support, I can't link any of my social networks to proboards. Nor can any other member on my forum. It just shows the pb splash screen. No pop-up appears. When i try to login with my social network here at support.proboards or at any other pb-forum it works fine... So it clearly has something to do with my forum. So, i can't login with it or share any threads with the share-button. I believe this has been broken since i first started the forum. Help please! srry for my english

Hi,
If you click on your profile - You should see a link "Social Networks" That should show the links to your social network account/s if you click on that you can setup the account/s and on the popup screen make sure there a green tick for the social network you are using when using the share button.
Also make sure that social network can be accessed by all and not hidden

click on your profile - then Social networks
You should see the social network icons
Then click which social network you would like to link to your forum account
The link should show on your profile for the active network account

This is what is shows at first: And when i click on one nothing happens. It only shows the pb-splash screen which is supposed t oshow behind the pop-up where you enter your social-network information. I hope i explained it well. And thank you for thinking with me!

by the way, you can test it while visiting my forum as a guest and try to log-in with your social network.

You mean log-in on twitter.com for example? It doesn't show any settings there to give it access to my Forum.

Not working. It's not because of my twitter account not working properly. It doesn't work for all members on all social networks. So basically the script that calls the pop-up is blocked somehow. But i can't think of any custom-scripts that i entered that could interfere with it as i believe the pop-up never worked on my forum... I'll wait for an admin as you suggested Thanks anyway!

I'm not sure why I've been seeing this code on so many forums lately but it causes havoc with other codes since it REDEFINES the Image constructor by that unfortunate variable name selection <script type='text/javascript'> /* Clickable banner created by CrAzY_J Open Source*/
var Main = document.body.getElementsByTagName('font')[0]; var Source = Main.firstChild.src; Main.removeChild( Main.firstChild ); var Link = document.createElement('a'); var Image = document.createElement('img'); Link.href = this.location.href.split('.com')[0]+'.com'; Image.src = Source; Image.border = 0; Link.appendChild( Image ); Main.appendChild( Link ); </script>
It's a pretty good bet it is the cause of your social networking woes and is also the reason why some advertisement generating scripts crash which could actually put it in direct conflict with TOS. Remove that script and see if your social networking abilities return. I mentioned this to Wormo a couple days ago who said he would update the database although I'm not sure to which database he was referring since I cannot find it on the support database. edit:
found the code Clickable Banner [CB]

Hi, I would like to add also visiting your forum and clicking on a thread/post on your board And clicking on the SHARE BUTTON = It works for me! The popup shows to allow to share content ((that would post on my twitter acount)) Check all the settings when you setup your network account = are set correctly! if you are not seeing the popup - Try checking your security settings on your browser Steve

@ Eton Bones I will try that today! thanks
@xsteveuk Yes, that will bring up a pop-up but clicking on a social network will do nothing.

Removing that code did the trick! thanks alot guys!
In order to keep the clickable banner add the following code to the global header:
<script type="text/Javascript"> // Banner Links to Main Page by Chris
var aFO = document.getElementsByTagName("FONT"); aFO[0].innerHTML = "<a href='?'>"+aFO[0].innerHTML+"</a>"; </script>
