Forum URL: bkuniverse.proboards81.com/Some of my members have requested to have music on the forums. I don't want it to turn on automatically though because it bothers some people. I added this code: support.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=support&action=display&n=1&thread=30155&page=3How do we add the music though, does it need to be audio hosted by a website like images or not. I have the songs, they are in MIDI format, and they open with Windows Media Player on my computer.(not sure if that matters or not) I can't seem to get it to work. Any help appreciated.

In the future, this would go in Code Support. Yes, your song needs to be hosted somewhere, just like pictures. Wherever you decide to host the music, you then put the URL in this part of the code: '<embed src="URL OF MUSIC" />'+ Where it says URL OF MUSIC.

It's because the link that you have there is the link to the download page, not to the actual file itself. Try www.ripway.com, it is usually recommended.

I'm not sure what's going on with that code, but it didn't work on my forum either, so it's not other codes conflicting. Anyway, I threw together a quick and easy table with the player in it: <table align="center" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" style="border-collapse: collapse" bordercolor="#111111" width="300" id="AutoNumber1" bgcolor="#000033"> <tr> <td> <p align="center"><font color="#FFFFFF">Music Player:</font></td> </tr> <tr> <td> <embed name="lostmojo" src="http://h1.ripway.com/benjo/068-level-4-jolly-roger-s-lagoon.mp3" width="300" height="15" loop="false" autostart="false"> </embed> </td> </tr> </table> Copy that into your footer and should work.

Is there anyway to make it keep playing when you change pages?

Actually I've been using UploadIT.com and I find it good!
Simply donate $5 USD and get 500GB disk space @_@
That's what I did .. GREAT!

Any music you have on your site, you must get permission from the copyright holder, generally that means most (if not all) Mp3's. Midi versions are better, less of a problem with copyright and hosting. Read here about copyrights amd getting midi's, then find the code you want, there's a couple that open on new window too. musicdemo.proboards38.com/
