Update: 9:16am (Pacific)
We are testing to see if this problem is related to the advertisements on the forums. At this time we are uploading a new set of codes to all servers to handle the ads.
Also, some have reported that the page loads before they get redirected. If you could stop the page load (hit escape before the redirect) and save the source code for the page. Then attach it to a reply in this thread so we can take a look at the code - it would be appreciated.
Up to this point none of our staff has been able to duplicate this issue, if you have consistently had this issue come up for you, and you use Skype, please feel free to add me to your skype list -- user "patrick.proboards" and I'd like to chat to get more information.
To confirm, many people have posted saying they are redirected to the ProBoards.com homepage (www.proboards.com), but some have been less specific. So please post the URL to the page which you are being redirected to, just for confirmation.
Also, I need some clear information from those this is affecting: When you click on a link that causes you to get redirected, do you instantly get redirected, or does the page start to load first? If the page that you clicked to go to is loading before the redirect, how far down the page does it load? The header area? Do you see the ad? Do you see the main body of the page? I need details.
Thanks
Patrick

Patrick, you locked the other thread while I was typing and now I have to start all over again. Oh well, maybe the message will be shorter this time. My problem was trying to navigate here in support. I would access this site via my "Favorites" and the URL in there was simply support.proboards.com/ Everywhere I would try o go always took me back to that location minus the index.cgi. Even if I clicked on home which was supposed to take me to index.cgi it reloaded and redirected back to home page minus index.cgi. I tried typing the above location on two other computers here in my home an had no problem navigating around. Came back to this computer and copied location and pasted it into a new browser window and had no problem. Decided to re-add the location to my "Favorites" and replace the existing one. From then on the problem never reoccurred. OK, none of that really makes sense but as I was walking back to this computer I was thinking just what you mentioned about it being related to the DDOS. Strange as it may seem could that attack have done something in our bookmark for this site or the cookies for such? Hey, I'm just a knucklehead so what do I know? OK, maybe this message was a little longer than the one I couldn't post.

OK, maybe this message was a little longer than the one I couldn't post. Removing a bookmark from your system and then re-accessing your board, realistically, should not have any impact on anyone's ability to access a forum. What I think happens it that a user's active connection to our servers closes in the time it takes for someone to do that, then they get a new fresh connection afterwards. Anyways, I am investigating different ways in which users are redirected throughout our site and trying to add logging to each area to find out which particular redirect could be the culprit. As such, I'm asking for people to post their URLs right as the redirect happens so I can check the appropriate log files related to that redirect. Patrick

forums.allyourschat.com/Our forum was acting up some yesterday then seemed to be fine today. Now everything I click takes me back to the above location (minus the index.cgi). Using IE7(7.0.5730.11) XP Home SP3 The Google ad at the top does not show. I am redirected in very short time. So short I can't scroll to the bottom to see if there are the usual things there (placed by PB and Google). Check that, I did make a quick look on a less lengthy board and yes, all the usual is there but again, quickly goes back to the original URL. This proboard forum is still stable after I replaced the "Favorite" as mentioned in my previous post. I'm going to forgo doing the same for my forum for testing purpose. I'm also going to test my forum on my other two machines in a bit. That's about as detailed I can get. Just ask for anything else specific and I'll be happy to answer. If you need we might try the remote access. Just to add, this board is on server 35 if that helps. Additional information:This again is when I access the board from "My Favorites". The very same URL is listed on our Web Site Home Page allyourschat.com and when I access from there I have no redirection problems. This again makes me think it's something to do with "Favorites". I know it doesn't make any sense but this is a second scenario that this happens with. No such problem on either of my other two computers. Both with the same OS and browser but I know one to be .13 instead of .11. Also, neither of them have this location in my "Favorites" so I can't make a comparison there, sorry. 12:22 Eastern Time:I was in the middle of doing a SnagIt Video to show you what happened. I had forgot to include the cursor in the video so when I tried again It quir redirecting me. Maybe that change you spoke of with your 9:16 PT update did the trick.

hannay.proboards105.com/I have exactly the same problem with the above forum. Whatever I click on opens for a split second and then redirects me back to the forum's home page. This is when I'm using IE which is Version 7.0.5730.13 Mine is the admin account if that makes any difference. I tried using Firefox and it works fine.
I also use about 4 or 5 other proboards forums regularly without any problem. Just this particular one I have the problem with.

On two forums, on one of which I have admin status and on the other where I'm just a member, I get redirected. When I try to acces the admin panel or any other board on either sites it will either load for a second and then redirect to that forum's main page or it will redirect to the forum's main page immediately. Strangely enough I'm not having that problem on my other forum or any other forum up to now. Saying up to now because it could still happen. EDIT: Probably won't help much, but I just found out that I don't experience those problems when I access the sites from a computer at the uni library.

Please post if you are still experiencing this issue. Some changes have gone out to all servers, and while I can not be sure if it will or will not fix the problem, it would be great to get more feedback.

I still don't trust that wowpower bot. Why did it register on every proboards it could find and then not do anything?
