I noticed many forums get hacked. It would be very sad if such a thing happens. I know that it's usually possible to export the contents of a forum for backup purposes. I tried to find anything about that, but didn't succeed. I don't suppose you guys (Proboard) backup everything every week, if so...I would be delighted!! Can someone tell me more??

No forum that we know of has ever been "hacked". The problem is cracking, members are getting in becase of admins poor passwords (very poor passwords in some cases) As long as you have a secure password (mixture of lower and upper case letters and numbers which is at least 8 chars long) you shouldnt have a problem The same applies with the email password, since if they get into that, they could then get into the forum by requesting the password be emailed As long as you have both passwords there secure (and differnt) you wont have a problem

Yes Okay, I get the message, thanks for this. But what if someone get's in and deletes many threads or kicks the administrators out...
I can do something about my own password-name combination, but I am not the only one and people have friends/kids or write things down etc. and some other people just like to hack...
