Forum URL: southernlurcherrescue.org.ukThe members on our forum are experiencing several problems when they try to link to the message board from the website. They are being advised that the smilies are potential virus threats. Some of the member's computers will not permit them to load the message board, one of them thinking that the smilie was the problem the "smile" smilie. We are using smilieplanet smilies. Any advice would be appreciate. Also, the smilies are starting to go back into code along the top line instead of seeing the smilie! (edit note: removed all caps from thread title)

Hello, Visiting their website reveals a threat warning from Google Chrome. I would just remove the smilies and see if that helps. Dylan.

You might want to consider hosting any smilies on your own website. I see you have dog photos at southernlurcherrescue.org.uk. Perhaps you could host your smilies there too and bypass SmiliePlanet altogether.
Edited to add: Whether you are allowed to re-host PlanetSmileys' smilies elsewhere may depend on their policies. You'll need to follow their rules. If you aren't allowed to re-host, you'll need to get rid of their smilies to rid your board of the virus alerts.

Hi, Just wanted to confirm the above, there have been several forums that have come to us over the last few weeks about the virus message due to having smileys hosted by planetsmileys.net on their forum. The only way to be rid of that message would be to remove the smileys hosted by planetsmileys.net from your forum. To do this, visit the Skins / Forum Colors area of your admin panel, then click on the "Customize Images" link. On the next page, choose the "Default" skin from the drop-down menu and click the continue button. You'll notice on this page in the "Smileys" category that for the and default images, they are currently being replaced by images from planetsmileys. Remove the link to the right of these images and save the changes. Once that's done, members using the skin named "Default" on your forum, they'll no longer see that message. You will want to do the above for each skin on your forum in order to cure it for everyone on your forum, as it appears that you have other skins on the forum that are replacing the default smiley images from ProBoards with ones hosted by planetsmileys. Once these links are removed from all skins on your forum, it should no longer be an issue

Hi, sorry If I am being a numpty, but if I remove the planet smilies, am I left with no smilies, or will it default to the smilies that you have above this post. Are there other options. ? Thanks. x
p.s. Will this also stop the virus alert on the links?

It will revert to the default smilies, yes. The only other option is finding another smilies site, or hosting some smilies yourself [assuming you first have permission from the owner of the smilies to rehost].

Thanks. x p.s. Will this also stop the virus alert on the links? From the sounds of your issue, the smilies are the reason for the virus alert, as I pointed out earlier. Removing the smilies will revert them back to default (which are used here, yes) and alternatives would include what Craig has said. You may also be able to find someone who might want to make custom smilies for you though I doubt that area of ProBoards is strong these days.
