I am Australian and so we do not have wal-mart here but for all it's values I am against it. Have you seen the rest of the site? It's based on the McLibel case with McDonalds who stand for McGlobalisation and McExploitation and I have declared a boycott on McDonalds for some time now. So..? Wallie world pwnz is why people are against it. Like when the government wanted to boycott microsoft.

I'm with you. I'm not a rich man by any means, and couldn't afford the smaller business' prices either. Yes, Wal-Mart does have very good prices, and has an amazing selection. In fact we have two Wal-Marts here, and one Super Wal-Mart. I have a friend who works at Wal-Mart full time to raise her kids, and she is doing pretty good there. indeed...and for kids clothes there isn't any place better...kids cloths cost more than mine do at times na as you know they are continuiously growing out of them...and I like the fact they have lay aways too...I do everything there form grocery shopping to cloths shopping....and they have the best clearence sales..I just wish I could put clearnce on layaway....life would be so much easier lol and they have the best chicken....yummy and pizza rolls... and tea...I love walmarts tea..I can go on and on... LOL, indeed. My kid is in the phase now to where she wants Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen clothes, lol. Another cool this is Wal-Mart is considered 'cool' by kids today. When I was a kid, if you got your clothes from K-Mart, you were a nerd, lol.

Are the clothes good now? When I was a kid I had to debate with my mom about getting them there, not because of price or social pressure, but simply because they didn't last. A pair of shoes my mom bought for me from there cost $20 and lasted two months, whereas a pair of $45 Reeboks lasted a year or more. Same thing with their shirts and jeans, at that time at least. I haven't had clothes from there in five years or more so I don't know about current quality.

I understand about the $ issue. My point to my mom about a decade ago was that it was more economical to buy quality clothing that costs twice as much but lasts five times as long. Shoes would have the soles coming off in two months, shirts would lose their color and look dingy, pants likewise would fade and become very thin in the thread. I buy a lot from Wal-Mart, including the computer I'm typing into, but not clothes, still don't trust that.

I like Wal-mart, I shop there all the time. They have the same products as every other store but cheaper. That's good enough for me.

Alot of things can change in a decade and I agree with you ....quality better then quantity, however, I think for the money the prices rock. I mean its not going to be some home crafted 100% durable , but its just as good as going to a department store.....I love walmart and never had probelms..and on the slim chance you werent happy with something, they have an awesome return polocy..alot of little businesses dont....so what more can you ask form them?

can you really be against a store that has almost everything under one roof? I think not. People who are probably against wal-mart are mad casue they got like stuck in a long line or they didnt the french version of Pretty in Pink

I don't agree with all of their corporate policies, but respect them as a company. If people really dislike Wal-Mart, all they have to do is stop shopping there. If Wal-Mart is successful, it means more people are saving money in their shopping than people are hurting through lost jobs or whatever else they want to bellyache about. They follow the almighty dollar so they will run themselves and sell according to how Americans shop. This is similar to people whining/complaining about the government- quick to criticize, but slow to do anything about it that will effect change. Very good point.

It's a store. If you don't like it, don't shop there, simple as that.
As for me, I love the store. They have everything I need for a reasonable price. I have no reason not to like them.
