What is said in this tutorial is only a recommendation. My views on forum formation might be different from yours, so don't take word for word what I say. If you do, and you don't like the outcome, do not blame me, as I have told you the following is only recommendations.
Forum formation is actually quite fun, if you have the time and patience for it. One thing you'll want to have, though, is a good knowledge of the theme you're basing your board on. For example:

- Graphics and coding aren't everything. If you can't do either, keep to the bare minimum. You'll still be able to make a wonderful design.
- If you're having trouble with content, just go with what you have in your head. If people don't like it, they will tell you, and you'll always be able to change it.
- If your graphics are bad, it really shouldn't matter. Whatever looks good to you is good, and somebody elses opinion shouldn't matter.
