Corretion, Diabetites is where your body does not produe the right sugar levels, thus meaniung you have to take shots (type 1) or take pills (type 2) Also on type 1 you have to be on dyialisys (i think) my dad was a diabetic, type one, he died in 2001

I know, i said usally by over weight, its not that it dosnt produce right bloodsuger as much as it is, insulin, the pancreas produces it and the insulin takes the need parts of the food and uses it, some comes waste, but my body wasnt producing insluin so i had to tkae the usefull things from other parts forcing it to shut down.

Type 1 is due to the body's inability to produce insulin. Therefore, insulin must be injected to create a balance in the body. This usually occurs in people before the age of 40. Type 2 is due to the body's inability to produce enough insulin, or the inability to process the existing insulin. This can happen at any time in life, but usually after the age of 20-25. It is treated by modifying diet, exercise and taking medication. Both conditions can cause severe kidney damage, which could lead to the need for dialysis. It can also cause changes in the eyes (even causing blindness in some cases), the circulation (causing the need for amputation), nerves (causing no feeling in the feet or other areas of the body), and much more. The best way to control your diabetes is to remain educated about the condition. The more you know, the better prepared you will be for future problems. It is important for you to stay in contact with your doctor and to report any strange feeling you have, whether you think it means something or not. If you are smart and keep control of your diabetes, you will be able to live a normal life. Heck, even Olympic champions have diabetes. Why just in the us being overweight and having diabetes? I am from the us... that is kind of a naive stereotype...

Why just in the us being overweight and having diabetes? I am from the us... that is kind of a naive stereotype... I think he only mentioned the U.S. because that's where he is from. He was only speaking from his observations, and I'm sure he didn't mean it as a sterotype. It is true, though, that at least 60% of the U.S. population is overweight or obese. Marian

I have Type 1 diabetes, and have done for almost 3 years. I used to be on injections, but I was lucky enough last December to be able to get an insulin pump, and this has allowed me to control my blood glucose better.
