True, but let me tell you this... My father repairs computers for a living, & 95% of the time, the computers he fixes are infected with at least 1 virus & LOTS of spyware... And the owner is using IE. So, I can tell you from experience that many people never think of scanning for spyware & viruses because they just don't understand how that stuff enters their computer & therefore, don't even know it's there. Some don't even know that spyware exists, & yes, some don't even know what a browser is or what "operating system" means. Believe it or not, there are still people like that. And when there's a problem, all they know is something's wrong, so they come to my father & say "fix it". And BTW, banner ads can give you spyware, so it's not just going to "flakey" sites that infect your computer. The problem lies with 3rd party cookies, & the average user doesn't block cookies. IE doesn't give you spyware by itself. If you visit sites with malware on (warez sites, for example), or download things from Kazaa without even bothering to run a virus scanner, then yes, you'll find a significant increase in the amount of problems you have with your PC. However if you stick to some fairly easy web safety techniques, IE is not a security risk. So yes, if you're driving in a warzone, you should drive a tank rather than a sports car, because the tank will keep you safer. But if you'd never driven into any warzones in your sports car, why would you change to a tank? As I already said once before in this thread, FF also had a big security scare recently which was every bit as bad as the flaws found in IE. As FF becomes more popular, more flaws will be found in it, and more people will target it for malware.

O and I forgot to mention Internet2 can browse pages extremely fast, it opened 10,000 pages in 30 seconds.

Well, then you & I are in the elite group of those who actually KNOW what happens when you surf the net. A lot of people are... & I hate to say this because I don't mean to be rude & offend anyone... dumb when it comes to using computers, especially the internet. They need lessons before even touching the keyboard. I guess I'm not average lol I block and scan for spyware/adware.

Reffering to my post on the previous page, if the tides were changed and FF was the leader then we would be seeing similar things with it as well. Althought you right for now FF is better but not when the majoyrity starts using it.

I prefer Maxthon. It is the best of both IE and FireFox! Built in Pop-Up blocker. Full Controll over ActiveX. Compatable with ALL java scripts, and codes. And you can get add-ons for it simular to FireFox! I have never heard of it That is because everyone thinks that there are only 2 choices, and if they use anything but the BIG 2 it will kill their PC. Mozilla Firefox. I find it faster, more stable, pop-up free (no 3rd party add-ons needed either), follows Web Standards more closly, less prone to malicious scripts (ActiveX mainly), and some other details Exactly what he said. I use FF, because I dislike ActiveX. As I said Maxthon gives you COMPLETE controll over ActiveX. You can compleatly dissable it. You can have it ask you BEFORE running any ActiveX components. And BTW, banner ads can give you spyware, so it's not just going to "flakey" sites that infect your computer. The problem lies with 3rd party cookies, & the average user doesn't block cookies. It is called LACK OF MAINTANCE! Do car's need their oil changed? Do they need to be washed? Do you have to check the tire pressure? YES YES YES! SAME with computers. You people expect them to run flawlessly ALL THE TIME no matter what you do with them! But you REFUSE to accept the fact that MAINTANCE needs to be done on a regular basis! Many also refuse to use antivirus software OR keep it up to date! Excuse the analogy, but you have to "change the condom" every so often... The BEST thing you can do for your computer is regualr maintance... This includes: Running weekly antivirus updates and then COMPLETE scans! Running Adware and Spyware scanners weekly. Drfragging your PC every week to month. If you have NEVER done any of the above you should start tonight!

Of course it's a lack of maintainance, but people like that don't realize it. Then they wonder why their computer stops working.... It is called LACK OF MAINTANCE! Do car's need their oil changed? 'Cause one is a broswer and the other is.. yea but still Look you are compairing a sports car, to a section of highway! That does not make sense! That is like comparing an apple to an apple tree! Like compairing a DVD movie to a home theater system! Like comparing your Cell Phone to your Cell Carrior! Of course it's a lack of maintainance, but people like that don't realize it. Then they wonder why their computer stops working.... And that is where your dad, and myself make our $$$. From the people who do not take care of their PC's. But that all has NOTHING to do with what browser they are using. As Renegade stated, IE does not GIVE you adware/spyware.

The banner ads can give you spyware via 3rd party cookies. But how many people block the ads in IE? Not many, apparently.... As Renegade stated, IE does not GIVE you adware/spyware.
