Do you believe adults strive for perfection more then teenagers do? I believe we have the bliss stomped out of us by the time we're 18 or so. It took me at least another 18 years to rediscover it. During those second 18 years, I was downright strident. I was trying much too hard. I am much more relaxed now. However, I was NEVER a perfectionist. It is just not part of my personality. I know a lot of people who are, and find that often perfection leaves them perpetually frustrated. Do you know what is the problem with perfection? It is absolutely unattainable. Nothing is perfect. There is ALWAYS room for improvement. Remember the old riddle about if you need to walk a mile, and go half the distance every day? The riddle was to determine how long it would take you to reach your goal. The answer was, "never", because no matter how near your goal, you were only permitted to go halfway. And so it is with perfection. It is the brass ring that is tantalizingly near, but always out of reach. I am much more comfortable with doing a good job, and leave it at that!

I feel offended by that, Rich.
I myself am a perfectionist and get pretty far every day.

I try to be perfect, I know I will never get there but I try to be the best I can. If adults try harder than teens, a lot of the adults I know aren't showing it. I think teens try harder.

I do believe that adults do. Usually teenagers are laid back and they are fine with getting a B and not an A (most of them I'd say..including me). Sometimes they don't try as hard as they could in middle school or elementary school or even high school. They keep their room messy etc etc.
However adults always tell their kids to keep their room clean, to get an A in school, blah blah all of that. They try to make things perfect but teenagers don't always.

Wow, that was deep. Really moving. As to the subject though, I think teens are more of selective perjectionists. They don't try their hardest at everything they do, but when they do something they like, they attempt to do their best. Adults however may try harder in every day life. Just an opinion.

Adults try harder in genral, I think it takes quite a bit to get a teen motivated to be a perfectionist, as we are lazy and still think that the world hands us everything.
