I prefer Laptops, because they are portable, and I go to college and am constantly going places. Plus, you can go to places like Starbucks and go get internet there.

Desktops - although a laptop would have been handy at times, I find their keyboards difficult to type on, and the touchpad mouse many have doesn't really suit me either.

Desktop for similar reasons to Renegade. Although i think there pretty useful they can be quite annoying sometimes.

I personally prefer laptops now. Before I bought one, I despised them. But now that I have one, it's not too bad. I bought a wireless mouse and keyboard for it when I'm at home, but everything else flies when I'm on the road. My one dislike about laptops is the fact that it becomes hard to upgrade once you have it built. So I put in the 1 gig of ram when I bought it, and eventually here I'm going to purchase another 512, just for the extra push.

My laptop has replaced my desktop.. Oddly enough. It's not a powerful laptop, but it's not weak either.
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ (2.0GHz)
768MB DDR (Odd number.. plan on replacing the 256 stick with a 1GB when I get the chance)
ATI Radeon XPress 200M (128MB Dedicated)
15.4" widescreen at 1280x800
I've gotten used to the keyboard, and can't stand to type on anything else now. Plus, my little MS Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse 4000 eliminates the touch pad. =)
This laptop handles everything I need: MySQL SQL Server 2005 Express Photoshop CS2 Dreamweaver 8 Flash 8 Visual Studio 2005 Express World of Warcraft
Plus, I go many places where I might need a computer. AND I went out, got myself an FM Modulator for my car, now I can use my laptop in my car and have my entire playlist with me. =D
