I dont think it is the actual dying that any of us are afraid of. I think it is the not knowing what is beyond death that terrifies us, or what will happen to those we leave behind. What do you think about this .This is just my view on it .

I think you have a good point there. Its the fact that we won't be living the life we are so familiar with anymore, and what happens afterward is a mystery, and we're not sure what to expect.

...duh!
I thought it was common knowledge that it is the unknown which is feared, not the death itself.

...duh! I thought it was common knowledge that it is the unknown which is feared, not the death itself. Not for all people... some people fear leaving everything in this world. They don't want to stop living because they are afraid of.. well, not living.

I agree. If it could be understood what happened, I'm sure not many would be worried about dying.
Like, you may never get to see your dog, family, or friends again.

Exactly lol. I won't mind if it's what my religion says it is (Pearly Gates, second Garden of Eden, eternal paradise). But it's scary if the Atheists are right (meaning that everything goes black forever, and you can't think or do anything).

I'm afraid of leaving my loved ones, nothing more. Well roam the earth as a ghost/sprit, and watch over them. And protect them.

Which is why you've got to take everything said here with a little common sense. I meant specifically the unknown which may affect us.

It's lying in a hospital bed having a drawn out death that worries me, i'd rather be hit by fast car or shot in the head. I'm not worried about what's after as i'm not religious, and for me, respectfully, i don't believe there is anything after in accordance to my own beliefs.
