i am 13, even though my profile says i am not 13 i am because i put in the wrong date. and i understand that i would also need some training. well ok , but most 13 year olds would also understand that a cheetah is protected and almost impossible to own . It is an unrealistic goal .. kind of like me wanting an elephant . I would love one but also realize that there is no way to care for one . So I admire them on TV and in zoo's where people know what they are doing .

Then at 13 years of age why not try and get involved in a conservation project. This will allow you to learn a lot about the animal you respect and perhaps later in life give you a chance to work with them.

Realistically unless you're a millionaire/billionaire no one's going to let you own a cheetah. The best you can do is sign up and volunteer in a local zoo. Zoo's love people to help out with them. A few years ago I was forced by my parent to do some volunteer work at the zoo so I got to help one on one with some of the various animals. Though for some reason all the kids (there was like over 30 of us) we had to pay a teeny tiny small fee for what I forgot.

i understand that taking care of a cheetah will be very hard work but that doesn't bother me. what does bother me is that you guys are now saying that i can't own a chhetah because i am to young, but i can own one even though you might think i don't have the patence i do and i will be able to care for a cheetah. and also i understand the ammount of money to have to have would be a very large ammount but my dad has a very good paying job and we would have enough money to be able to take care of a cheetah, and also if i need to sell alot of my old stuff then i will because that would give me more money towards taking care of a cheetah. and also i have the dedication to take care of one.

You are missing the point. Its not to do with age.

I'm not saying you are too young for a cheetah I'm saying you act immature and can't seem to understand that owning a cheetah is not an attainable goal . Little kids get things like this into their heads and wont change , Not 13 year olds . Thats my point . It has nothing to do with dedication or wanting . It has to do with them being protected and almost impossible for a zoo to buy .. yet you think you can ? And I am done explaining . Good luck with your dream BTW . I hope one day you can work with them or something reasonable .

Okay here it is. Cheetah's are not like dogs. They don't like small backyards they like to run, hide, and especially hunt. They have very very sharp teeth and will bite the hand that feeds them. Perhaps even rip out the throat of the hand that feeds them. Think you can run and flee from a cheetah? Think again since they can run 60 mph. What will your neighbors say? They obviously won't want a dangerous animal near their children. Have you even talked about this with your parents? But yes, good luck with owning a cheetah. Good luck.
