Though I would consider declawing my Rottweiler , he sits here and hits you as hard as he can, like if you have food in your hands, a cat, or even nothing, his claws hurt and leaves very long red marks, then usually puff up after a few minutes. Actually, you just need to teach him not to do that.

Declawing a cat? Thats not right in my book tbh. Cats have claws and thats life.
Do we debeak a parrot because it pecks at things.
No no no

Actually, you just need to teach him not to do that. We got him to late he was in 4 different homes before we got him. His tail is not even clipped off like a real Rot's tail should be, the vet said if they do it now, later in his life he is going to have problems. He is to hard to teach, our Shepherd Pit learned not to do that, and actually just sits there and stairs at you without moving. He is funny at times. Like he was running, and smashed into our fence, we checked to see if he was ok, and well he was, because he still got back up and ran. Sometimes he plays games like if he does not want to come in, he picks up a stick or a ball and runs, and you have to catch him, but he wont let you. Its fun to play with him. he is also easier, when wrestling with him, I get get him down easily and fast, but with my Shepherd pit, she has so much power and strength that it would be a miracle to get her down. We took her to the vet because she had an infection on her head, from what we do not know. It took me my mom and 3 other vet people to hold her down to put some cream on her head and to get her shots for rabies. We still had a hard time holding her down 2 Male vets a female Vet me and my mom, yeah she is one strong dog. ;D

I would never declaw my cats. Personally the softpaws really work. My mom had bought them for our two cats to test out a bit since we didn't want them to scratch the couch or whatever and they work, but you have to reapply the claw covers when they fall off. I think declawing a cat is just horrible personally, I mean what is a cat suppose to do if they can't scratch anything? But Softpaws were and its easier then having go pay to go declaw a cat. Besides its safe for the cat and everyone/thing around it.

My cat is mostly an outdoor cat, so we don't declaw him. He needs those babies to stay sharp when battling neighborhood cats and dogs, along with our own dogs. He's often come home missing clumps of fur, or bleeding, because of a fight he got into.

I just polled the committee (three dogs).......the result was inconclusive but then they were unanimous about "what the **** was the cat doing in the house in the first instance". I concur with them....

I had no idea what was really involved until a few years ago when I read an article, and it made me feel sick to my stomach to read about it! I wouldn't have my kitties declawed, and I tell anyone else who will listen the same thing.

If I could I would take in all cats that are put outside, for the fact I do not like it when I see cats outside. It's sad they have to fend for themselves, we took in a black cat last Halloween. (It was weird when we found the cat on Halloween.) But yeah I really do not like seeing cats outside. Specially rode kill ones

I feel sorry for stray cats, although we don't really see those around here much, but most people let their cats go outside o.o

I never declaw my cats, I love to watch them jump around in trees and the serious looks on their faces when they sharpen them are adorable.

Our neighbors down the street keep moaning to us that their dear cats keep getting eaten by the coyotes. Hellooooooooooooooooooooooooo.......after the first one became a scooby snack, don't you think they'd get the hint not to let their cats outside?!
