It's getting on my nerves. Not long ago, homosexuals would get bashed for being gay or lesbian or whatever. Now it tends to be homophobes getting bashed. What the hell. I'm gay, but it really annoys me when homophobes get bashed. Whatever happened to individual likes and dislikes? Now days everyone is all " OMG GAY RIGHTS" Whatever happened to freedom of speech?
I have a friend who got told to go and die because he doesn't like homosexuality, but accepts it's around. These people are called the bullies, but to be honest, the real bullies are the people who flame them for their opinions on homosexuality.
Just needed to get that one off my chest. =D

you're right, i think; if someone is homophobic, or doesn't agree with homosexuality, that doesn't make them a bully. if they'd rather die [in reference to tobi's thread] than go against their personal belief or go outside their comfort zone, i think it's sad but it's their choice.
it's a two way street--- gays who bash people who are straight or homophobics, as well as homophobics or straigts who bash gays-- respect each other, regardless of differences in beliefs.

Exactly. I remember when I got bashed by someone at school for standing up for this one kid who didn't agree with homosexuality because of his religion. I instantly became the one that no one wanted to talk to for a month until I said " Why don't you all grow up? No one in the world is all going to agree with homosexuality, or everyone being straight."
It's just pathetic. If you want respect, be the first to show it, imo.

It really depends. There's a solid difference between being straight and being homophobic in my opinion. While it's never fair to judge anyone for their views, if you're saying something like, "I'm not gay." versus, "I'm against homosexuals," then I think it's fair to 'bash' them as you put it.
Anyone who judges should be put in their place. Freedom of speech is always there, but only if it doesn't impede another person's right.

Er, I think anybody who wants to spread hate deserves to be bashed and they will be.

I agree. There seems to be a culture of some homosexuals being very defensive and as soon as someone says something even remotely against homosexuality then they are a 'gay basher' or 'not respecting their right to equal rights' or something along those lines. There has to be a point where both meet. it's a two way street--- gays who bash people who are straight or homophobics, as well as homophobics or straigts who bash gays-- respect each other, regardless of differences in beliefs. Anne's described it a lot better than i could - very wise words there.

I believe it's called the fascism of absolute freedom. People can choose to believe what they want as long as it agrees with what everyone else thinks.

There are many bullies that carry various chips on their ignorant shoulders. They are no better than anyone else, and maybe even less. They are not secure enough in themselves, or other people’s differences would not be a problem for them.

lol, thanks. even with my spelling boo-boo? xD haha, i thought i'd show that you are infallible sometimes lol, but only sometimes. xD Oh, I thought I'd add - I've not 'come out' to my parents yet; I think, that while my parents are probably pretty to-your-face polite about being gay/bi, they're the biggest homophobes I know. Not the inyourface bashers, but the behind the back ones. those are the worst. >.<
