Have you heard the saying that 'if you die in your dreams you die in real life'? I don't remember where it started or where it came from, but I've heard it before.
I've had dreams where I'm close to death. Where I'm in a situation where I know I'm going to die in the end. Either a fictional dream (like a medieval game scenario with monsters or zombies or something), or something real life where I know death is going to be the end result. Some are realistic, others are very out there but all will end the same.
However last night.. well, let me start at the beginning. I was sitting on a beach with several other people (who I don't remember now), staring out at the ocean. It was dusk.
All I remember is waiting for something, anxiously, as if it were going to be the last time I ever saw anything. I remember the waves kept getting closer and the water was unusually warm.
The dream came to a close when the ocean started to boil and turn red, as if an eruption was taking place. I saw an explosion in the water, and a huge spire come from it. I got up and ran with two other girls that were there with me. There was a glass building behind us and as I pulled the door open, the fire rushed over me and I was incinerated instantly. I felt no pain. I watched this part from a third person's point of view and saw myself remain there in a specter phase, where I went back to my own spirit and realized I was dead. I said to myself "It's over" as I floated there. And then the floor opened beneath me, I reached out for the girls I had just died with. One of them pointed down and I screamed for help, then I woke up.
Strange, I know. But I died in my dream. and I'm clearly still alive as I'm here typing this to you.
Do you remember your dreams after waking up? Have you ever died in a dream? Do you try to analyze them like I'm sitting here doing? >.>

Yeah, I got microwaved once... That was a scary dream... I think I woke up before I truely "died."

I've had very strange dreams, but then when I wake up, I can't remember them. Only a few dreams I can remember, and they were major.

I don't think I have ever died in a dream, nor do I often remember them. There's only one recurring dream that I can remember (had these when I was 12/13-ish)... I rose from a high-built stone temple like structure (Mayan in style, but I didn't even know about Mayan culture then) and destroyed the world. Yes, I wasn't the one dying, I was the one doing all the killing

Wow, that's freaky. I'm glad people don't die in real life when they die in their dreams.
I always analyze my dreams. I love it when I dream about the same setting but a different plot, or have recurring dreams. There is this town in my dreams that I keep dreaming of, more precicely the small law office in one place. I am SO excited about it, though. If that place really exists, I'm sure it has a huge part in my life, or a past life, or a future life. It's awesome. It makes me want to google 'law offices' until I find the right one. XD

Yes, I wasn't the one dying, I was the one doing all the killing Wow, that would be scary!! O.O I once killed someone in my dream with a fork and left him in a bathtub outside (I know, right?) I went inside to tell my mom he was dead and when I went to show her the body, it was gone. I often have Zombie Appocalypse dreams where I can't get my gun to fire, or I can't figure out how to load it. Or dreams where I get into a fight with someone and swing with all my might but can't do any damage.

I don't think I have ever dreamed of dying, at least that I remember. It must be scary.

I don't think I have ever dreamed of dying, at least that I remember. It must be scary. It wasn't this time. Normally it is, but I always wake up before I die. When I died in this particular dream, it was more like an empty feeling. I just felt my heart drop when I watched the three of us incinerate. I just remember thinking things like "I'll never do this or that again" or "life is really over now" or "what's next?" My initial thought was "well, I'm dead but I'm still here, so there's got to be something".

Most of my death or apocalypse dreams usually involve a giant object crashing into the earth. I've died plenty of times, mostly from the above.

Dreams can be so freaky. O.o
I've dreamed of dying twice. Both times from some slow disease like cancer where they just drift off.... It is very scary.

I think I died once, but I can't remember how or why. And I'm still alive, as of yesterday. It was a long time ago though. These days I'm lucid whenever I dream, so I wouldn't let myself die. xD

I heard the saying but never believed in it.
I just died in the dream I had before waking up. For some reason I took a gun to my head and shot myself in front of my mom. The only disturbing thing about that dream was the fact it was like a comedy and I don't find suicide funny -_-

I had this dream about three times. I was sleeping face down and i woke up and i couldn't move my head up, so i couldn't breath. And i kept trying to tell myself to move my head up but i couldn't and so i would give up and then eventually wake up from my dream.

Actually, what I heard is that when you or someone else dies in a dream, you/person get a whole bunch of years added to your life span. *nodnod* That being said, I'm overjoyed whenever I dream of someone dying. XD

I'm going to be honest.. I think about me dying pretty often. The causes and effect of my death.
Not in my dreams but in a somewhat realistic scenario while on duty in Afghanistan.
