Does anyone do any live-action roleplays?
I've started when I was 8, and I never stopped. Right now, I've been developing my own roleplay... and it is turning out perfect.

nah, i don't LARP, but one of my roommates does, and my bf has dabbled a bit. i have participated in a LARP, at one point long ago, and it was pretty fun. Not the 'LIGHTNING BOLT LIGHTNING BOLT' kind of LARP, but more of a.. Renn Faire type. =]

My roleplay is going from "lighting bolt... LIGHTING BOLT" to more of a calmer, sword-fightish / less of a magic attack saying to a way to move your hands/feat/whatever to cast the spell...

I've always wanted to LARP, but never have.

If you can, it is worth getting in to, but where I do it - I am considered as a "freak" or "outsider" in my town.

If you LARP you will more than likely be considered a "freak" or "outsider" in any town. I have never done it. From what I have heard and seen, I don't really like it when they start making it more like a video game and stuff. Like using beany bags as points and stuff like that.

If you LARP you will more than likely be considered a "freak" or "outsider" in any town. Indeed. I think most people would double take if they saw, say, a knight hop onto a train. LARPing never really appealed to me. Well, not unless you count running around the house with a plastic sword when I was very young. XD *shrugs* Each to their own though. Anyone who's nasty about it probably has their own quirks and unusual hobbies too. That, or they're boring.

The extent of my 'LARP' knowledges comes from Role Models.
It looked absolutely incredible in that but I can imagine it might not work so smoothly in real life. I especially didn't understand where the wizard fitted in...
Can't say it's my kind of thing but... it's definitely something.

There are people who walk around campus (at uni) with wooden swords all the time... I laugh whenever I see them.

I truly only RP on the computer. I have done so in real awhile back with my friend at my place. Wasn't to epic, but fun. Never into that to much of course though. [: If I had a chance, maybe in a cos-play for a anime convention I'd do it.! I think its pretty frekinn' kewl

Back in my younger days I live action played Dungeons and Dragons the 80's version. What I wouldn't give to find a group again here to play. But the religious people here have pretty much disbanded the groups that do play. They think it's satanic simply because a kid had committed suicide over it back in the 80's.

I only usually RP on the computer, but live-action seems pretty fun. But I'd probably be even more of a dork than I am currently. If that's possible.

Doesn't mean I am going to hell over it. I always bring up the fact that Disney uses magic and Scrooge uses ghosts and time travel and magic and such.. So what makes Dungeons and Dragons or Harry Potter any different? I'm not very well liked in my part of town for that reason.. I wonder why.. ;D
