Right off the bat, everyone’s going to say “Kinect is just like the Wii, and the Play Station Move is an exact copy of the Wii.” I’d completely disagree; The Kinect is what the Wii was advertised to be. When the Wii first came out, there was all this hype about how it would get kids off the couch, and actually moving around to play their games. Anyone who’s played through Zelda and the Twilight Princess, knows that the most you do in that game is move your arms a little.
Wii Sports had basic movements, that people easily simplified. With Kinect, you can’t dumb it down; you are the controller. Compared to the methods used by the Play station controllers, I consider both innovative, but I feel as if the Kinect is a greater system. That said, Play station move is a great change on the innovative idea brought on by Wii. With the best graphics in the business, Play Station won’t have to worry about a lot.
With your purchase of the Kinect Bundle, you get a game called Kinect Adventures. After about fifteen minutes of playing this, I was starting to sweat. Now I’m a fairly in shape guy, and I get my fair share of exercise, but for the large population of people who aren’t in shape, I think the concept of Kinect is amazing. In comparison with the games from the play station move, I find that the Kinect requires more effort, and has a greater award.
With fist fighting games and even the next Harry Potter being announced for the Kinect, I can’t wait until a shooting game is released. Now I understand the Play Station Move also has shooting games, and they are quiet entertaining, but the device doesn’t track nearly to the degree of Kinect, and walking is still decided by a joy stick method.
Frankly, I can’t say which is going to be more successful; I know that in the case of some games, such as shooting games, I’d like to have equipment in my hands. Likewise, there are a fair number of games that truly don’t need anything. But knowing Microsoft, if they reach out for shooting games, they’ll add in a hand piece to act as trigger, and soak up some more of our money.
So yah; the Wii’s history, but it had a good run; three years I believe. I’m sure Nintendo already has a new game system in the works, but I don’t expect much of it. After all, their target is the ten and under group.
Back to the ageless question: Xbox or Playstation, and where does Nintendo fit on the scale? Please, leave a comment.

I've got my copy of Kinect coming in the post this week (hopefully weds, i think) and from the videos i've seen, i'm creaming my pants over it - I've got a Wii (i co-own it with my mum) and it gets a lot of use when we're all in the mood. I guess social gaming is the future.

I doubt I'll be buying the Kinect anytime soon, if at all. I have a Wii, which is plenty for me I don't know, for some reason I'm just not thrilled about the whole thing....I don't really know why. Of either, I think Kinect will be a lot cooler than Move, seeing as to me? The Move is basically a Wii extension for Playstation (plus my PS3 doesn't even play games, anyway ). Truth be told, the Kinect does look really cool...it just seems a little too good to be true. I guess I'll be waiting on reviews, haha. Oh, and to answer your question...Xbox. I've replaced my PS3 twice, none of them have ever fully worked. I must have just got a bad batch or something, but it's left me somewhat bitter about the whole thing

Nintendo = Mario
Mario is better than any of the games that will come.

I used to have a PS2 camera, and that was pretty cool, but limited by the fact there was like one game available for it. If there are good games to support Kinnect it has a good chance of doing well, other than the fact that something that tiring might not be what people want to play if they play games to relax. even for simple games, keeping your arms in the air a lot is hard work

Doubt I'll be buying Kinect any time soon, either, but that's pretty much solely because I'm poor. =P I'm interested to see where it goes, though, the reviews on Kinect have been pretty decent from sources such as GI.
As far as the PS Move, I'm not all too HOMGZOMG about it; it looks like a candied-up version of the Wii -- you still have to point and click. Kinect is definitely more innovative, though I am wondering exactly how it's going to be pulled off.
As far as where Nintendo fits in, I think they've still got a pretty good market with the Wii. When PS3s can be backwards compatible with PS2 games without blowing up, and when Xbox games can universally be compatible with 360, then I think they might have some trouble. They may not have the market on movement anymore, but since any GameCube game is compatible with the Wii, they've still got that on the more 'hardcore' systems.

I've yet to own an xbox 360, playstation 3, or wii. In my opinion a gym membership is still cheaper

The difference is Playstation and XBox have great games, while the Wii has childish games.

The difference is Playstation and XBox have great games, while the Wii has childish games. And the PS and Xbox don't have childish games? =P Like, say, Viva Pinata? The Wii has plenty of great games, but it has a different purpose than the PS and Xbox systems. PS and Xbox are geared toward more "hardcore" gamers, whilst the Wii is geared toward social gaming -- replacing the board game or pictionary, etc, as "party" games. edit;; not to mention that you can play GameCube games on the Wii, as well as download "old school" nintendo games, which many "hard core gamers" view as cornerstones of the videogame industry. =P

Honestly? As a lifelong gamer, I seriously couldn't care less about the Kinect or the Move. I thought the Wii was awesome when it came out and playing it with my dad is some of the last memories I have of him.
The new Xbox kinda creeps me out, to be honest. A gaming system that can scan your face/body and recognize you, sign you in, and watches your every movement?? No thanks. Something about that is not right and I don't like it.
Whoever said that Nintendo is just for kids.. I hate to disagree but some of the greatest video games of all time started on the Nintendo and were not for "kids" under 10. Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest (or Dragon Warrior as it was), Mario, Zelda, Castlevania.. the list goes on and on.

No R.I.P. Wii, Wii got ripped-off. Sony and Microsoft only did that because they realized their console sucked because everyone liked the Wii better.

Sony and Microsoft only did that because they realized their console sucked because everyone liked the Wii better. are you just making stuff up, or...? it's my understanding that PS3 and 360 users are still prevalent. Wii targets a different demographic than the PS3 and 360, and the Kinect and Move are a response to meet that demographic and increase sales for the companies, so they don't have to rely solely on "hardcore" gamers.
