Silly feds. It takes a few minutes to a few hours to direct to a new domain. It takes the same amount of time to make a new proboards forum but ProBoards still deletes bad forums True, but when proboards deletes a forum your content is gone. If the feds seize a site it's not very difficult to be up and running within an hour with the same content, userbase, etc. In no way do I support piracy or other garbage that they may cause a site to be seized. I'm merely commenting on how ineffectual the methods are.

if people are hosting illegal information, than people from any country have the right to get rid of it... i don't see why you're defending said site when they are hosting illegal information that is against the regulations of the 'world wide' internet. o_0
+ If someone was hosting child porn wouldn't you want someone to have the power to take the site down. I know we don't want the government involved with everything but as long as it isn't censorship like they have in china i have no problem with them taking down illegal stuff. It doesn't contain nothing illegal. It contains links. That is all. New rule: let's not post uninformed Another site that was taken down is rojadirecta. It is back online now. It is a Spanish website with no links (hosting, domain etc) to USA. It was declared twice legal by the Spanish courts. This is the freakin Homeland Security. They are now searching for Bin Laden on streaming sites? Altough he is a Arsenal fan so they might be onto something. Anyway this happend.... coincidence....near the SuperBowl probably under pressure from lobbyists from DC

No. They are not linking to illegal content. If they did they wouldn't be able to exist for so long in the first place. You will see they will give those domains back after a short while.
Also the law is the same in Spain. And they found it legal. So they are not "contributory copyright infringement". If the courts found it legal then they are not doing something illegal Capisci

ADTHE had links and embeds for pirate streams of TV stations. i'm not sure what the other one you mentioned contained though?

ADTHE Rojadirecta HQ-streams.net All do the same thing. They index HTTP links to sports streams that can already be found on the Internet. I believe that is called free speech no? What they do is as illegal as me inviting you in my house to view a PPV game I paid for. The sites are all working again. Sure the .net or .com don't work anymore but they are still running. All smoke atdhenet.tv/

no that's not true. What they do is effectively public broadcasting, which isn't the same at all.
Although, it does seem silly that the link sites got taken out, but many of the sites they linked to, were left alone.

They do not public broadcast or whatever. That's the whole point. If they did they would have been shutdown a long time ago.
They post links. Those links could be to my videodairy or whatever.

I think you're right about them trying to stop streams of the Superbowl.
But if (when?) they give the domain back, I'd assume it was just because the effort of trying to extradite someone to face charges in court over it wasn't worth the effort, and they'd done enough to stop the SuperBowl streaming.

I don't think they would want to extradite anyone. And if even it was worth the effort, all the charges are weak. Like I said if it was public broadcasting or linking to copyright material they would have been seized years ago. Those are trumped-up charges to stall which in IMO stupid because as I showed you the sites are working again.

This is the part of your argument I don't understand. How are they not linking to copyrighted material?
I think it's likely that, with the case not being worth the effort to take to court, they'll quietly drop it in a month or so, at which point they'd have to return the domain.

The same way police officers can't search someone's car/house without a warrant. What the police find it is unadmisible in court if the search is illegal. Those links could be Real - Barcelona or my video blog entitled "Real-Barcelona best game eva"
Sure they could sting everyone who is hosting those links which would be legal or shut down those sites which is a stretch
