I've seen worst personally. I've joined plenty of forums, and even made several. Although those pictures this guy sends are terrible, it's still not as bad as receiving viruses, getting your forum deleted, and far worst. The stuff this guy does is kiddy stuff by comparison.

I didn't say it wasn't kiddy stuff, or worse than viruses. But it still shouldn't happen. Just because it is lesser, doesn't mean it should be let go.

Hi guys, We understand that some people here are frustrated with a certain spammer who has been going around. Since this started we have initiated a full investigation into this matter. We have been quiet about this because we know that the spammer has been reading topics here on the Support Board, and anything that we revealed could tip off the spammer. We are fairly confident that we have identified who the spammer is, and have contacted their college where they have been making a lot of these postings from. If the postings do not fully stop we are considering instituting legal actions against this individual. Know that we have not sat idle by doing nothing, but we had to build our case on this matter for the chance that this goes to court. Patrick Clinger I bet this kid's parents are going to be so proud when he gets kicked out of college. lol.

I know it shouldn't be allowed to continue, but making a big topic on PB Support seems to have made it worst. I've seen him attack forums before, but we usually ignore him and he disappears. We made a few topics on here, sure, but they were small and few. Us making a huge deal out of this has given him the ego stroke he has been looking for. If people would ignore him, he would probably go away.

So everyone can just continue thinking it's just random members and not the same people? So they can continue taking cbox codes and watching everyone's site at one time, like security cameras? I feel that is taking it further than being just a spammer, but a stalker. And I'm done with that.
Good. Now just to find the next one...
Edit: And making a topic is making a topic. How big it gets is up to who all comes to discuss, not just the creator.

Most cbox providers allow you to make it so the cbox only appears on a site you choose, so if he puts the code onto his forum, it won't work. He may go the extra mile to troll, but we can easily deal with that. And, he watches the cboxes so he can see your reactions when he spams you. I know it shouldn't be allowed to continue, but making a big topic on PB Support seems to have made it worst. I've seen him attack forums before, but we usually ignore him and he disappears. If people would ignore him, he would probably go away. Since they are considering legal action against this troll, I doubt he will 'go away anytime soon'. Hopefully, if he is reading this, the legal action thing will scare him into stopping for awhile. Maybe this topic wasn't so bad after all.

How big it gets is up to who all comes to discuss, not just the creator. This, it's funny how everyone keeps saying that making a topic would cause the spammer to be more aware how ever your just as guilty for posting here. I mean it's not like your the first person to say something like that, one thing I dislike about forums theirs a lot of repetitive comments that really do nothing except have a negative vibe towards the topic. Another thing, a member will ALWAYS find a way to try to bring your down when common sense tells you that your right, well semi-right. It's not as if their are 10 pages of LOOK OUT FOR THE SPAMMERZ! We want answers, we got answers, but still feel as if it weren't done right and that our forums will still get attacked. Though, remember that cbox has got nothing to do with proboards and are external. As I said this HAS been going on for months the image I posted earlier is enough proof dating back in August. I dunno maybe some of us just feel as if we deserve an apology for these attacks instead of forum staff suggesting that we lock our forums and loose members.

No...he just gets source codes and puts him on his site so he can never look at them. /sarcasm/
I have admins on sites who love me for bringing this to everyone, and people on here who hate me, therefore, you can't please everyone, so you just do what you feel needs to be done.
Edit: I'm just as guilty as the spammer?

We don't hate you for doing this, it's great that you go out of your way to warn people. But you should try not to make it a big deal, that's what he wants. I know this topic isn't saying "Look out for the spammer!!", but it is dedicating almost 10 pages to his actions.
Edit: No, you're not as guilty as the spammer, if that's the case, we all are for posting in this topic.

*Nods* I understand that certain people on here think it was ok. But at the same time, others will think it is ridiculous while others love the fact that something was done. I'm just saying, you can't please everyone ever.

Well, I was in one site that was 'attacked' by this spammer. I should say he sent me... 10 messages with horrifying pictures. Yuck, never seen anything like them before. I deleted them quickly before seeing that he used my nickname to say terrible things to others. I told the leaders about it. Dang, what a pain in the *** he was. *shakes head*
I am also part of a site that is on his list to be attacked/spammed. *crosses fingers* I just hope the spammer will not stay long and that he will leave my Rping friends and I alone. I will NEVER feed the trolls, which I am bit used to. I have been on neo and they had awful ones also.
I also should thank the people who work on the Proboard staff. ;-)

I dunno maybe some of us just feel as if we deserve an apology for these attacks instead of forum staff suggesting that we lock our forums and loose members. If you are referring to ProBoards issuing some kind of apology, I don't feel that is appropriate at all. We are obviously not associated with this person in any way and had absolutely nothing to do with their actions. We have no more control over what people do online than you do. However, we are taking the necessary steps to stop this person and I believe we have done so. We will continue to press this matter legally if there are any more attacks. Patrick
