ProBoards v5 Launch Date Announced!

We are proud to announce that on ProBoards v5 will officially be launched on April 29th, 2013! Our next generation forum software comes with thousands of improvements and enhancements to your forum experience.

We have even more good news for you: The next phase of our Open Beta will start on January 28th. This phase will allow you early access to upgrade your existing forums to ProBoards v5! This means you can get all of the great features ProBoards v5 has to offer as early as next month!

Without giving any details away yet I will say the following as an early gift.

The contest has 2 parts.

The first part is not competitive. Anyone can win, and to varying degrees based on your forums level of commitment. If you can't wait til the 28th, don't despair, your fate will be in your own hands.

The second part is based on the first in a way and is competitive. We thought it would be nice to reward a few of those who went above and beyond in pursuit of the first part's goal.

I hope that wasn't too much of an enigma. Pat can confirm, but expect more details on the contest next week after Christmas.

That's later than I expected, but I'm guessing you have good reason and tons of things that really need to be ironed out given that this is going to be rolled out to absolutely everyone and will be available to the public. BUGS CANNOT BE ACCEPTED.

Also, v5 might be the reason for me to dive back into HTML5 and CSS and actually think about making some interesting plug-ins or skins CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT.

Yes. This way, the staff doesn't have to spend their Christmas (or their Martin Luther King Day, or their Valentine's Day, or their... um... Smarch) responding to billions of support threads from panicky people asking why their board has suddenly transformed.
