BetaZone Forum Design Contest Winners Selected!

What a wonderful and great contest we just had. There were over two dozen entries and after intense scrutiny and a long and detailed review process we finally managed to select our winners. There was much debate, but after tying up Patrick in a corner and telling him Support wasn't eligible for all five winning spots we picked five great forums.

The 5 winners will be notified by email soon. So keep an eye on your inboxes contestants.

We won't be announcing who the exact winners are just in case people didn't follow the rules of the contest. In that case runner's up will be contacted. We will, however, show you some of the best forums that entered. Here are EIGHT GREAT FORUMS in no particular order!

I must say that I really like how the user statistics on posts on flight-of-fantasy.freemessageboards.com are hidden until you hover over the little + box. Anyways, congrats to everyone who won.

hachimachi.freemessageboards.com is mine. The thumbnail really doesn't show off much of it, there are a lot of template edits, including a logged in user area in the top right that gives you quick access to do stuff like edit your avatar, edit your settings and view your profile.

I basically just made it to prove that you don't need to spend a bunch of money to make a forum that looks modern and professional. It also gave me a chance to get used to working with v5, which I must say has really impressed me. As they say, "When life hands you templates, make template edits."
