Background Image In Reply Box

Ok, I've been playing around and I want to add a background image to the reply box(the area where I am now typing). I've tried to place it where I thought it should be, but I end up adding it to the shout box or some other place I don't want it. Any help would be appreciated.

Go to Admin>>Themes>>Colors&Styles and then scroll down to Forms>>Text Areas and then you should have an option to put in an image. Save it. That will show up in quick reply too, if you have it enabled.

Ok, I did that right in the first place. And I wondered why it only showed in the quick reply. You have to have visual on. I had BBcode on when I did it. Once I switched to visual the background showed. Thanks for your help tumbleweed.

May I ask why the background does NOT show in Visual?

I'm the same. The uploaded image shows in Quick Reply and only in BBCode in the main reply, which is a prob as Visual is the default



I've tried it with .png and .jpg files as at first thought might be a problem with the png but same result either way

ok, thanks. I am glad it isn't only me. Well not really. I wonder if this is a bug or flaw or just the design.

I believe I read somewhere here that the ghosted items are ghosted because the visual isn't working yet on those things. If I remember right, that was a ghosted item.

I have a slight problem. I managed to get the background image I wanted in. I went to edit a post and it looks like this. I know I will have to make the image bigger right? Any idea on the size of the reply box so I don't have to fiddle trying to find the right size?

There is a ruler somewhere on this site that is recommended. (I use it all the time) That way you can measure the width but length will depend on how much someone types, therefore it would be best if you had a repeating background.
