Loving the new V5.
Is it possible to have a 'reply' button when viewing the recent posts ? Currently have to click on quote to do it. If you click on the thread title, it takes you to the first post in the thread - also a little bit annoying. Could that be sorted too ?
Thanks.

You can't have a reply button because you aren't in any one thread. It wouldn't know where to reply to.
That being said perhaps we could add an option to reply in the options drop down (gear icon). Though to be honest without going into the thread you have no idea where that post falls. You can assume near the end since it's in the recent posts, but there's no guarantee. What if the thread has 1 or 2 new pages and you just reply without quoting. Your context will be lost. The Quote is technically the best option for replying from the Recent Posts page because it ensures that you will have proper context.
Also I agree that going to the thread should probably take you to the post in the thread, instead of the very beginning. I will make a task for this.

Thanks for the reply Ryan Roos. It would be good if it took you to the end of the thread rather than the start. As for the reply button, am sure you could do it in the previous version. Even if it just took you to the reply box at the end of the thread. I just think it saves a bit hassle navigating.

You can't have a reply button because you aren't in any one thread. It wouldn't know where to reply to. The users on one of the forums I mod are complaining about having to delete the quote every time the hit reply. The lack of a straight reply button at the top of each post is a real annoyance to users, sadly one of many after the upgrade.

The lack of a straight reply button at the top of each post is a real annoyance to users, sadly one of many after the upgrade. On that forum the admin could simply modify their template and place reply buttons wherever they want. Members shouldn't complain that they have to delete a quote when they press a button called Quote. In v5 you can literally edit your forum in any way since we give you access to the template. So there should be no issue with button placement. Simply move it if members are complaining on your forum. Or go request a plugin that places a reply button in every post.
