Customising the banner area at the top

Is it possible to modify the banner area to added additional text and links using header codes? An example layout would be like this board, which is not a proboard:
www.darkplaces.co.uk/phpbb/index.php

This is how my own board currently is, so you can see where I want to put some text ie the name of the forum, and possibly some additional links:
cotswoldcaching.boards.net/

If there is an easier way to do this that I am not seeing, then please let me know.

Thank you. It wasn't exactly, but it has pointed me to the right area of the code so I can now start to play until I get it exactly how I want.
