We are very pleased to announce the release of the ProBoards Theme Library. Available from your admin area, the Theme Library will serve as an easy to use way to find and try new themes for your forum. From the library you can either download the .PBT file or install the theme to your forum directly with a single click. Submitting to the LibraryIf you would like to submit your theme to the ProBoards Theme Library, just follow these easy steps: - Go to the theme in question in the Theme Manager (Admin Area > Themes > Theme Manager)
- Find your theme, click on Settings, and go to the Export tab
- From here, click on Export to ProBoards Library, then Add a New Theme.
- Take a second to verify that all information about your theme is correct (the more descriptive, the better!)
- You must upload between one and five images of your theme. These must be less than 1 MB each, and will look best at a resolution of 960 pixels by 560 pixels. Make sure that your images are representative of your theme, as they will be the most obvious distinguishing feature of your theme in the Library.
- Select up to five tags for your theme, to make it easy for other ProBoards members to find your theme.
- After everything's filled out, hit the export button and your theme is on its way!
After every theme is submitted, it is reviewed by ProBoards to ensure the highest quality. You will be notified by email when your submission has been accepted, or in the case that it needs a few changes, you will be emailed the changes that need to be made before it can be accepted. After a theme has been accepted to the library, you are able to update it in much the same way as adding a new theme to the library. Simply choose Update an Existing Theme from the options on the export tab.

Hi Tim Camara. This is excellent. Very much so. I definitely love the fact we get to upload 5 images, and not thumbnail ones. I have 1 question that I really need answering though You say that we can update the information for the themes. Can this be done from any admin panel we have access to with our global account? Or if for example, I was on 123456.proboards.com (not real / not mine lol) and uploaded my theme from the admin panel, could I then go on abcdefg.proboards.com and UPDATE the information from its Admin Control Panel? May seem stupid, but I really would love to know this before uploading from any random forum. Thanks in advance. Edit: I have another concern/problem/query. I have 4 different themes. 3 of which have over 20 for (says in my signature). I upload these 1 at a time, and have no where to add a comments bit to say anything about the fact there are other colours, and here is a .zip or .rar to download them. Also, what about readme files I have created to help assist? How do I tell people "it's HIGHLY recommended you use THIS Plugin with this theme" etc. So much has been missed from this, yet I do like what i see so far. Just new stuff need adding. Edit 2: For the Theme Description, what I type in that people see that as the description, I assume? Can you guys allow us to at LEAST upload a notepad file for people to download, so we can give instructions in that for "Go to X to get this plugin" etc ?

Updating basically replaces the theme with whatever you provide. Plugins/Themes in the library are linked to your global account. So you could create a theme on one forum, then replace it using a different forum during the export process.
Any instructions you need to provide should be put into the description for your theme. It's a one-click install that puts the theme onto the forum. While we offer the ability to download themes, that's not what we're really encouraging - we want you to install directly without having to download files.

I understand the fact you want stuff to be very simple and quick to install, but there will always be times where we need to tell people to edit stuff (member legends for one example but plenty more), add stuff (plugins and more). The only other thing I can think of to do, is to link to your own thread on here PBS, for example. How many characters does the description hold ? If it is limited could you guys add a character count for us please?

Description is currently unlimited, so you should have plenty of space to write anything you feel is necessary.
Also, I know we have plans in the works to eventually have related or suggested plugins/themes that can be associated with an item.

Very, very nice. Really like this feature. The themes manager is very easy to use and I like it much better than the v4 version of the ProBoards skins. Quick question? Is there a maximum number of themes that you can export? Was wondering about that. Thanks so much for this update. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK

I guess for the mean time at least, I will use the description as a means to link to topics with full downloads and how-to's etc.

Very nice and easy to import with very little tweaking required. The wait has been worth it and it seems like it's all coming together.
Nice job guys.

Tim Camara Are any of the themes that have been added to the support board going to be in the Library, or should I add them directly to the library. I don't want to duplicate if they are going to eventually be added.

Athene? - There is no limit to the number of themes you can export to the library. mamagail48 - If you wish to see your themes in the library, you should go ahead and upload them.

I have one final question for now. I think I know the answer buuuut... I assume links wont show as links in the description? Even if I use bbcode/html..

Hey, couple things Tim CamaraHow do you write a review? Also, when i clicked on a theme (not mine) and click on the author, the "Delete" button came up on the side of the theme. When you click on the, the delete menu pops up. Not sure if it deletes, did not try, however, the author is the only one who can delete right?

Tim Camara I just noticed that in the themes library anyone can delete a theme that is in the library. Shouldn't that be left up to the individual owner and not just any member. I didn't delete any themes but it gave me the possibility to delete my own as well as other theme owners. You could really run into a problem that way. One owner could turn around and delete all the themes available except own. Not a good thing.

Sorry, the delete button is showing up incorrectly, it's already fixed internally, and should be live shortly. As a side note, the functionality will not work unless you are the author, it's just the button visibility that's currently wrong.
