ProBoards offers a paid service that will allow you to change the URL of your forum to another address provided by ProBoards. For example, this would be used if you have a forum at name1.proboards.com changed to name2.proboards.com. This service is mostly useful for forums that have been around for a while that may have shifted to be toward a different topic then what the forum was originally created for.
The cost to change the URL of your online forum is a one-time fee of $9.99 USD. When you change the forum URL, the old URL will direct visitors to the new URL for two weeks to allow members to adjust and note the change. After two weeks, the old URL will no longer re-direct to the new, but will still display a notice to let visitors know that the URL of the forum has changed. It's important to note that when you change the URL of the forum, the only thing that is affected is how visitors will access your forum. All of the content and membership will remain as before.
To change the URL of a forum, visit your admin panel and then navigate to Upgrades > Change Forum URL. On the next page you can feel free to read an overview about the Change Forum URL service, as well as the FAQ provided at the bottom of the page. To continue with the URL change to the forum, type in the new address that you would like to use in the box provided, then choose one of the standard domain names provided by ProBoards in the drop-down menu. For example, if you want the forum URL to be myforum.boards.net, simply type in myforum in the box provided, then choose boards.net from the drop-down menu. A message will automatically update to let you know if the URL is available to use or if it has already been taken.
Once you have an un-used name that you want to switch to selected, click the "Continue to Checkout" button to proceed to the checkout page to finalize the forum URL change. As soon as the order is completed, the new forum URL will take place for the forum.
