VS Admin I have been using V5 now for some months, I was one of the early upgrades and when I did I said I loved it. I design now for your new V5 board and am enjoying it so much. I have to say thank you to you and all your staff for all the time and effort you have put in this new software. I recently left another company that offers forums and a paid software to boot, not free and I can't believe that this software is very comparable to the software and add-ons I paid over $400 for. It astonishes me that free forum software can be provided like this without costing me money. Everything about it is top notch, from the member end right on up to the designing and coding. I am sure what is in store for this software version will get better and better and I am sold on it. I will continue to use this software for a long time. I started out with Proboards and I will end with Proboards, now that is what I call going full circle. A job well done to all that put this whole thing together.

Congrats PB So, not to be critical since I don't create or manage forums myself anymore anyway, but why did it take so long in the end? I remember way back at the last PB meet I went to, in 2008 I think, and Martyn saying that now he was moving to America things would start moving faster and v5 would be out in no time. Was it that there were just a load more ideas and the new version ended up being a bigger, more ambitious job than at first thought, or just that there was a delay getting started or something? I guess as someone who's been here a long time, it just seems a really long time since the v4 rollout Looks good though, so congrats again

I guess as someone who's been here a long time, it just seems a really long time since the v4 rollout Looks good though, so congrats again I don't remember precisely, but I know that a big update happened with v4.5 after Martyn got here. It may have been that v4.5 was originally v5, but it was ultimately decided that the software could be made even better. And to do that it would have to be completely recoded from the ground up. So what may have seemed like an update originally, turned into a full software rewrite in the end. But we're finally here. My favorite thing about v5 is that even though it's here and even though it's awesome, there is still so much planned for the future. As of today I think we've jumped ahead, but by no means are we finished with v5. And that's just super exciting. Updates over the next few years are going to be great.
