haha that video was awesome! She left for the weekend and it already feels SO much less tense around the apartment - it's ridiculous how much negative energy this girl brings. Haha I understand all of that I don't think I could handle someone that controlling when I was nice enough to let them have a place in my apartment when no one else would.. I know it's hard but the truth is always nice so be honest with her and if that doesn't work just be like I cant take the crazy anymore and you need to move out....

Have her watch this and then laugh as she packs her bags Haha. "I'm moving out and there's nothing you can do about it!" Love it.

That video's hilarious! She just got back from Newport and she seems to be in a decent mood. I also found a seventh post-it on our laundry earlier today, and I couldn't help but laugh.
For the time being I've hidden her post-its. If she asks where they are, I will simply tell her than when she can use post-its like an adult, I'll be happy to give them back.

Is there any chance that you could move out? Not that you should have to, but if it's the only alternative for a quiet life......

The main thing is I don't want to move out. I absolutely love my apartment, plus I have two people who want to move in. The landlord already agreed to let me stay another year, and I'm not backing down to this girl.
It might sound a bit bitchy, but I'm not losing my apartment to a crazy.

So many amazing references in this thread.
"Hey. Can we talk?" And either list all the issues you have and ask her to fix them or ask her to move out and tell you why? And talk to your landlord?

That sounds really frustrating. I'd have given that roommate the boot a long time ago. IMHO this roommate doesn't sound very polite or has respect for you.
Good luck!

She has to have this attitude about things need to be her way or she'll throw a fit. Which is odd for a 30 year old woman to be doing to be honest. I think the last time I got away with that behavior was....well, I never got away with it haha. She's not even an only child; she's a middle child with an older sister by 3 years who is married with a son and another on the way. Then her younger sister is 26/27 has a serious boyfriend and kicked my roommate out of her apartment last year, which is how I got stuck with her.

UPDATE: It has in fact been solidly proven that she is in fact, a cheapskate. I got home yesterday to my apartment being a stifiling 80 degrees, so of course I go around, shut all the windows and turn on our central air. After maybe, 2 minutes she comes barging out of her room (she was here?) and demands that I need to tell her when I turn on the air so she can shut her windows.
She has a point of course but a) didn't know she was home, so didn't want to invade her privacy like a normal human being and b) if she claims she gets hot all the time, why wasn't it on in the first place?

HAHA soooo temping Jua. I know I can do it I just need to find the right words and time, preferably when she's in a good mood...and after my friend signs the lease Wednesday.
She's a bit of a scary rage-filled person, but I know I have to suck it up haha.

Question for all of you - when you get home and your roommates and one of their friends are in the living room, do you acknowledge them? Or just slam doors ignoring everyone ect.

Acknowledge with a nod. THANK you. I do at least that, even say "hi" or "Hey" and then leave them be. I thought it was rude.
