Ability to view a thread but not open them?

Hey guys & gals, is there a way for guests to be able to view a board and it's posts/thread titles but not be able to open them without logging in?

Fairly certain you could do this with the templates. A couple of {if} statements in the Thread Template to check the current board, and whether the user is a guest or not.
Let me have a quick play, don't see why I couldn't make this work. =]

The threads in the first board should be inaccessible to guests, and display an error message. The thread in the second board should be fine. =]

Would it be possible for it to offer a friendly registration / log in prompt instead of an error message please? Even a link to the registration page would work.

The error message and error title are completely editable, they were just my filler text for the test. If this is what Baller95 wants then the code I post will have a section explaining how to edit it. =]

First things first, look for the two bold purple numbers in there. That's the id of the board you want to target.
The blue section is the title for the box, which you can of course edit.
The orange section is what Barkley wants to edit. So long as what you enter is HTML (for example, links should be <a href="LINK URL" target="_parent">TEXTDISPLAYED</a>) you can add in whatever you want, and everything should work nicely. =]

Hi Paul.

I've done as you instructed, and added the board id (presuming board/number is correct)but after testing logged out, there is no obvious change to the visitor view or accessibility.

Is there something else that needs to be done?

Any chance of a link, and what you've added to the template? Worked on my test forum, but I can try yours viewing as a guest. =]
