So the template I am trying to convert is supposed to end up looking something like this:

as well as fixing it so it actually looks nice, I was wondering if it was possible to make the black bars on the left into links, so if you clicked them the text on the right hand side changed. I hope that makes sense and thank you to whoever has a bash at it...I really should learn these things! eek!

support.proboards.com/thread/468664/tutorial-posting-templates this may be of use to you. v4 styles don't work in v5, templates like the one in your preview will need to be re-written using [ div styles ] and bbcoded combined with css. post back if you need further help.

so where is says 'antony loxley' it could link to a certain area of text on the right hand side?

so I tried using the 'id' tag thingy but to no avail...maybe I'm doing it wrong :/

The easiest way to use the @ button is, clicking on the ubbc button then searching the name. This way you don't make any typos and you find whom you're looking for.

To add a link, again use the bbcoded buttons with url on it. Or [ url=link here ]name of person [/ url] Without spaces.

What I'm looking for is to be able to click the black boxes on the left hand side and for them to bring up a new area of text on the right hand side (where all the info's are)
So it's sort of linking within the whole template rather than to another page.

That wouldn't be possible without a plugin, as that involves Javascript execution to do.

Yes. There's always a possibility of any sort of plugin being made by any user capable of making plugins.

But those things do not exist in default V5 functionality.
