recent threads button

Hello, I am wanting to put some new plugins on my website.
One being a recent activity/new threads button that brings up a new page (or pop-up) that lists all the recent activity. Is there a plugin available already? (I couldnt find it) or is this more of a coding? If so could you give me the coding for it please?

Just go to:
Admin > Settings > Forum Settings > Navigation
Click the "Add Custom" button at the bottom.

Now type "Recent Threads" in the left box, and the right box enter: /threads/recent

And voila
