Is it possible to add a login form to the table in Peekaboo tabs? What I mean is, I'd like to have something similar to the form shown here: www.liesinthelow.proboards.com/index.cgiI assume they use Sidebar Redux, and it might be easier to accomplish what I want to do with them, but I really like the tabs. My website: demonchess.freeforums.net/I want members to click the "Welcome" tab, and have the option to log into their accounts, register, or log out. So I can eliminate the need for the pro boards menu. If possible I would also like the login form to disappear after loging in and display the account avatar, group/rank, or other bits of information about the person signed in. If its not possible, its not possible, but even if someone could point me to the correct codes/plugins or what not - I'm sure I can work it out myself so no one has to do the work for me.

You can make a button for login, register, log out, and switch accounts but you can't replicate the actual input for it, it has to go through proboards. You could make it so the login button disappears and changes into the avatar and such info once you log in, though, though layout templates and if statements

I see. So I can't move the login/logout form that is already there. Is it possible to make a new one from scratch? I know that sounds pointless, cuz that would leave me with 2 places to login on the page. But I know there has to be a way to make one because the person here www.liesinthelow.proboards.com/index.cgiis using one. I'm just not sure where I could find the code here in support. EDIT: Now I'm confused, I think I just read somewhere that making a new one violates TOS...soo this is probably a bust.

That forum is currently running the old 4.5 version of the software. The new version, v5, has a separate, more secure, login page that cannot be moved as ₪» ⅀ ƪ Ƒ «₪ said. As a side note, all v4.5 forums will be automatically updated to v5 at the end of the year.

To add to salted wound, what if I did what this person did? shi-buzoku.boards.net/Instead of moving the login/logout, or creating a form like I had thought - they simply created links in a div for "Login" and "Sign-Up". You click those links and it takes you to the new v5 login/ signup page. The cool part, is that once you are signed in, the content in the div changes to a picture of your avatar, your username, and the welcome text. I have no intention of copying her content, but the basic design of this is something I could use on V5 right? since I'm not changing the form used, just making a new way to get to it. any idea how I could achieve this?

To further elaborate, it would look like this. An {if} statement basically is saying "if -this- is true, then do the following code." or "if -this- isn't true, then do the following code." or "if -this- is true, then do the following code, and if it isn't then do this code instead." etc.
So, we could do...
{if $[current_user.is_member]} - code for the member - {else} - code for the guest - {/if]
Which is saying "if the current user (you) is a member, then do this code, otherwise (if a guest) do this code."
As for the actual coding, you could use the $[current_user.avatar] variable or whatever it looks like for the layout template you're putting it into to make the avatar show up. To get your login/logout/register/switch links, go to those actual pages on your site and copy the link. Then you can throw them into the coding with <a href="URL HERE">Text Here</a> links.
That should get you started!

That's boss!! I'll get started on trying to work it out. I didn't know you could use the {if} command in the peek-a-boo tabs.
Also, I figured that was what you were talking about originally, thanks for the input. I just wasn't sure what the commands were.
Any idea what the ones for the welcome text and messages are?
EDIT: after playing around with it, I'm actually not sure Peek-A-Boo Tabs supports the use of the {if} commands. I tried it out a couple different ways, and it just ended up being lines of the code.

Ohhh, right... I'm not sure you can. x.x' I didn't realize you wanted it in the peek-a-boo, I was thinking layout templates. I'd need insight from an admin or other member on that one cuz I'm not sure.
Ones for welcome text and messages? Welcome text would just be whatever you want to type. Messages are... I think $[current_user.messages.inbox] but again not sure it'd work in peekaboo

Thanks. Yeah, we'll see if someone else posts. If that's the codes that do it, I'll probably not be able to accomplish what I want.
Maybe I'll try putting it elsewhere.

I'm not sure what the format of peekaboo tabs is but putting this in the header area of any plugin should do whatever you want. <style type="text/css"> #idtobechanged { color: {if $[current_user.is_member]}green{else}red{/if}; } </style> Where you style the id #idtobechanged or change it to .classtobechanged color: could be height: or text-align: etc. This will help you with styling. If you are adding content based on whether the user is logged in. Use Javascript. <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { var user = pb.data('user'); if(user.is_logged_in){ pb.window.alert('Prompt', 'Welcome back, ' + user.name); } else { pb.window.alert('Register With Us'); }</script> Taken from: support.proboards.com/thread/489898/link-pb-jsOr you could essentially combine the two {if $[current_user.is_member]} <script> var user = pb.data('user'); pb.window.alert('Prompt', 'Welcome back, ' + user.name); </script> {else} <script> pb.window.alert('Register With Us'); </script> {/if} But it is not suggested

Yeah, not sure Peek-a-boo will allow it. At least, I'm not sure where the header for plugin is.
