DownloadAutomatically turn image links on your forum into images without the need for BBCode, similar to the auto-embed video feature. Comes with the option to choose which image extensions to apply this to (.jpg, .png, .gif, .bmp) in the event you don't want images with infamously large file sizes displayed.

Hi Brian I wonder if you would consider on a future update on the extensions the ability to set a default size For the images - if that's possible Excellent plugin Steve

Edit: Unless you mean for just the auto-linked images. I'll try to add an update for that next week if that's the case.

I just installed this plugin on my forum and tried using it but it doesn't seem to work. I made three attempts and none of them worked. All I get when I hit "Create Post" is the link, not the image.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong. This would be a great plugin for us, because we love to post images on our board but most of our members are not technically minded.
We use the video embed plugin, which works really well, and love it.

Can you link to a post with an example of this? Unfortunately, no. I deleted them as soon as I saw that they didn't work. What I did was take the link of a photo that had been successfully posted earlier today using the regular means, and simply pasted it into a new post without doing anything else. When I hit "Create Post", the link posted as a link and not as an image.

I can reach hidden boards from the office.

In forum settings I have the "Display Large Images" set to "Reduced Size To Fit Post Width" which works for images I link the traditional way but not with the plugin. Excellent plugin nonetheless!

All works fine for me just adding the direct link of the image URL using firefox & chrome
Perhaps if you have other plugins that change and alter images you could try temporary disabling them to see if any other may be conflicting with it

Hi, BrianI have no problem using Firefox & Chrome all works as it should I just tried and tested using Internet Explorer and it just shows the direct image link And does NOT convert the link to show the image link to post here thecreativepen.proboards.com/post/192725/threadI think the problem is using Internet Explorer - Viewing the link that was posted using internet explorer Using firefox & chrome the images display - Using Internet Explorer it just shows the direct link of the image Steve

I never use IE! But the thing is, it has to work with all browsers because you have no way of knowing which one your members use. We use the "Add image to post" plugin. I wonder if maybe it's interfering with this one? Just trying to figure out what the problem may be. If I can't solve it, I'll probably have to remove the plugin and wait for a later version.

[Slow down, I don't work after 5 PM. LOL, why not? Seriously, I was mostly thinking to myself and half replying to the poster ahead of me. My post was made this morning. Can you try changing https:// in your link to http:// instead? I did that and it worked! Thank you for solving the mystery However, this means that any link starting with "https" will show up as a link and not as a photo. For the most part, our members are not very technically minded and this may confuse them. So I think that for the time being, we're better off with the "Add image to post" button, which is being used and seems well-liked. But I'll keep an eye out for newer versions of this plugin, for sure! Thanks again!
