Ok so me and my admin have both tried to import a PBT file as a theme that was made for us. This is what we were told to do.
We tried it and it only got to uploading. It stayed on that screen for awhile we waited as long as a half hour and it still said uploading. Is this normal? How long does it take to upload a theme or is there something wrong? Or something we are doing wrong?

It stayed on that screen for awhile we waited as long as a half hour and it still said uploading. Is this normal? How long does it take to upload a theme or is there something wrong? Or something we are doing wrong? Someone had this issue not so long ago, and despite all of our questions, insisted on the fact it is a .pbt file. Just because the file is in a thread, it doesn't automatically mean it's a .pbt file, which leads me to my question. Is it DEFINITELY a .pbt? Are you sure it's not a .zip or .rar or anything else the designer has uploaded it as? If it is a .pbt, then another question would be: which browser are you both using?

Yes in my documents folder it says PBT file. I made sure to check that before I even tried to upload it. She sent it to us through dropbox. I downloaded it onto my computer looked at the file and made sure it was a PBT file then tried to upload it. I am currently using Chrome as a browser.

We have seen this happen before when the theme file was too large. What was the size of the file you tried to upload?

That is a pretty large theme file. Sometimes when creating/editing a theme, images are tried, then replaced with something else. If the rejected images are not deleted, the theme file size can get pretty large. Would you be able to contact the person who created the theme and ask if there are unused custom images that could be deleted to reduce the size of the file?

I just sent her a message now. If it doesn't work then I will post here and see what else we can do. Thank you!

I just sent her a message now. If it doesn't work then I will post here and see what else we can do. Thank you! The 11mb file size is no doubt the issue here. I'm not sure what the file size restriction is per theme, but that is incredibly large.

Ok well we fixed it. She is just going to install it herself. She said it worked fine on her test site so she's just going to do it. Thank you all for your help!

I'm not sure what the file size restriction is per theme It's 10MB, just FYI. Just added a bug to our system to handle this situation more cleanly.

On the pop up for where you choose the file to upload/import, can you add a brief bit of info stating what the maximum size is? I think this could help in the future. Myself included (I can't imagine ever making a 10mb theme, but who knows ). A little note saying something such as: NOTE: maximum .pbt file size is 10mb - much smaller is highly recommended lol.. I suck at wording but yeah..

It'll be something like that, plus warnings on export, since it's no use to have a theme exported that you can't import.
